Me.

I dunno what the hell it is, but I've been feeling pretty down for the last few days. Over silly little things I normally wouldn't shed a tear over (The boss fight thread, a scene in a book I've read before, etc.) I've had tears in my eyes.

Uninspired too. Just...don't want to draw, and whatever I do, I don't really like much. There's just so much good art on the forum that I just look at mine and go, "Really, Azu? Your art skill is equal to your skill in rocket science: non-existent."

It's nothing TOO serious (I'm not thinking about dying or anything, don't worry.) but I'm definitely just miffed and sad. Blargh.

Edit: It doesn't help that one second I'm fine, the next I'm pretty upset. Damn mood-swings.

Ugh, I can relate, Azu. Trust me, you aren't alone in that art feeling. I might coo over my art for a second, then go on Deviantart. And die. Because some of the people there are ridiculous.

And mood swings I can relate to. It sucks. >.<

If it helps at all, I really can see an improvement in every drawing you post. Practice really makes a huge difference. So... draw Vent Art? xD

Aye, I'm with Lupis. You draw something you're really proud of, then you see someone else who has drawn it better. But your art is nice, Azu! Like Lupis said, you can see it improving for every pic you post!

When I'm feeling like that I like to take a camera and go running. That's always fun. But might be a bit too cold for you? Hmm... Could always just relax and do something you normally wouldn't do, like learning rocket science. I'm a great tutor! :D

I also exist on DeviantArt.

I agree on the whole Deviantart thing. Totally.

And I did maybe discover a new way of shading when I was playing around with pixel art, so it's not all a lost. I apparently can apply lighting effects to my art. It should prove to be interesting.

And it is cold down here! D: Like....30 degrees or something! Cold! And ha, I'll admit I grinned at that, Sat. I'd be more worried about the mathematical aspect of rocket science than the science aspect. Science tends to be fun.

I've been like this lately too.....Karma has not been kind to me this week....

Got my monthly visitor(Ladies know what this means) and got a cold at the exact same time so my voice is cracked and it hurts to eat or drink with an everlasting fever.....plus the first day I go back to work after two days off, I got written up again(I expected it. I was 45 minutes late last Sunday cause I overslept.) and found out my co-worker said something TOTALLY different than what she told me on the phone that Sunday which made me look worse than it really was.

Don't worry Azu. Every artist goes though a phase of thinking their work is crap. I know I do, and often. The key is recognising your flaws, learning from them and from other people, and practice, practice, practice. Art, and pretty much everything we do, takes a lot of repetition to get good at. Just like playing a musical intrument, or a hundred other analogies.

Hmm. I suppose I should do somethign on topic.

I'm sick of feeling forced to miss these D&D sessions for real life crap. This doctor's appointment is important, as it could help solve a number of issues I have, but I feel like I'm letting the group down again by potentually not showing up. How many more times before they just decide it's better to schedule in something else more reliable? *Sigh*
On the same subject, I'm not sure if I'm a compitent DM. I'm certainly not a confident one. I'm just afraid that, once we do get started again, it won't turn out as fun as I hoped it to be.
Heh, a lot of concern over a silly game I suppose.

This and this, so much. You're improving a lot, Azu. Every drawing looks better. :)

I've been taking drawing seriously for about four years, and I still have a long, long way to go. I can really agree with seeing other art and getting frustrated - I've had more than my share of crying fits because of comparing my art to others. DeviantArt is terrible for that. >_>; You really can't press practicing hard enough, heh. It's just vital.
Try doing a drawing every day. Even if it's just a silly little doodle. It helps a TON, no joke. You can flip to a drawing from a week before and see results. And it really, really, really sucks getting told what's wrong with your art, but getting critiques helps a lot too. Having someone who's experienced in the area to give you advice helps a lot. For example, my mum is quite knowledgeable when it comes to muscle anatomy. I get a lot of advice from her when it comes to tweaking the appearance of the character I'm drawing. While DeviantArt provides a lot of frustration, it also give you super useful tutorials, too! Seriously, I think there's a tutorial on just about everything there. Anatomy for animals or humans, fur, wings, textures, colouring, colour schemes, shiny objects, clothing, ect. ect. ect. It helps sooooo much.

And mood swings can just go die in fires. :D

Hope you're feeling better, Azu.

To add my own petty issue to the thread: My attention span while drawing. I have the attention span of a goldfish.
"Okay, let's get drawing... now..." *goes to check forum for new posts*
"NO NO CONCENTRATE okay let's look at this tutorial at DeviantArt...." *Gets distracted by a pretty picture and proceeds to browse through a bunch of galleries*

Again, no worries, Moon! I'm not going anywhere, and your health is WAY more important than some game.
Really, I'd feel terrible if D&D kept you from getting healthier.
SO BE HAPPY!

...on topic.
I've run out of ideas. >.> I drew a camel and I drew a dragon... So now what?

Oh, and what Kam said. All of it. Truth.
The tutorials on DA taught me how to use Photoshop!

Kam... Pretty much said the truth there, and much more eloquently than I. :D
I would go on to add in a few more tips... But I'm wondering if it would be better to create a new thread on the subject over in the Arts forum we have? You know, just a collection of helpful, handy art tips so we don't derail this thread. *ponders*

Another thing I hate. Pimple outbreaks. >.<
Especially as they make me itchy as all hell, and come at that paticular time of the month without fail.
... Too much info there?

Wish there was something you can do about this, but it just sounds like you're a little depressed at the moment. Fortunately, you'll shake off your dour mood fairly soon.

Unfortunately, you have some of the signs and symptoms of being a teenager. :P

Agreed. Azu, it'll go over soon enough. Just do something fun.

Well, the exact amounts would vary based on the mass of whatever we're launching... I meant the formulas. :D

Azu as an adult... Scary thought!

Anyhow... One of the healers in my guild. Such a fucking drama queen. No, I did not get the necklace because I'm the girl, I got it because it's a major upgrade, and besides, you're a HEALER, you want spirit! *Sigh* S'anyway, a neat necklace drops, and he's like "Offering all my dkp!" and I'm like "Err... Me too, I guess." (We were about similar in terms of dkp, me slightly less) and the RL decides that I'm getting it for my initial, more sensible offer, and immediately Mr. Priest starts complaining about the sexist RL, eventually leading to him getting kicked and a druid getting pugged instead. -.- I miss my old guild.

I know normally you and I almost never see eye to eye but I really feel bad for you here. No one like yourself should have to deal with this. I hate guild drama. It's pointless and more often than not....stupid and it's always usually just ONE person to cause it.

Man-periods grind my gears.
Anyone who has ever been involved with a guy for more than 3 days knows what I'm talking about.
