I totally understand that, I just also imagine the druid being a bit "wth, what did I do???" about the situation, you know?

Araela wrote:I agree though- that I probably got kicked for the fact that the tank and I were beginning to argue. While I understand that his buddy was new to doing the reaper, I really was only trying to help. It seemed to me that since we had adds come all the way up the ramp both times, that that was the issue, which is why I mentioned it in the first place. I guess I just put them on the defensive about it, and the guy was probably already feeling crappy about the fact that the group wiped twice due to adds.
Yeah, most likely. It was a crappy situation, repeated wiping almost always puts people on edge. I've been in a similar situation, with someone who didn't know how to do it down in the reaper, but the reaper seems to be one of those things you do have to try a few times before you really get it down. Personally, I'd put the lowest dps in and try to burn the boss down up top. As long as people watch their warnings and run out while he ramps up for his big attacks, it's cake. But DM is really painful until people understand the strats, not just on that fight... Reeeeeally painful. :?

On topic with Foe Reaper 5000 boss, my group makes the tank go into the Prototype Reaper. The boss does mostly aoe damage so he can be easily pet tanked. I've done it before with ferocity pets in my survival spec chain casting MD thanks to the glyph. However, most pugs are not willing to try this way (and bad healers refuse to heal pets) so best to try with friends. Makes the fight much easier imo.

Having just merged in another crappy groups thread, I think I opened myself up to bad group karma. Or something.

It wasn't so much a bad group as it was a sign of MASSIVE LAZINESS. My holiday boss group kicked a rogue for afking the entire fight. Seriously? People are afking the holiday boss now? So dumb. On the plus side, this could be done in combat, since he was not in combat....

Lucas and I as well as another guildie on her druid alt got a craptastic pally tank. Not only was he squishy and in DPS Gear, he yelled at me to kite the adds, especially the purple trogg. Why? He thought it enraged the adds and boss(which it doesnt or if it does, it's not that big of a deal/not noticable....this was regular Grim Batol). Everyone including the Warlock pointed out to him that not only is kiting the adds not necessary but I cant kill the adds if they're eating my face every two seconds. Plus the tank kept getting hit with Ground Siege and Charge......so after two wipes, we tried once more.....guess what? Tank died again and took the Warlock with him.....so.....my worm tanked the boss with Lucas healing Grimm(my work). We killed the first boss. The tank starts bitching about Lucas's heals, saying the tank shouldnt heal more than the healer. He then posts the healing recount.......Lucas is in the top spot. I call him out on that and tell him a burst heal like Lay On Hands(which wasnt even necessary), doesnt count as being uber healz. MY druid guildie calls him out in being in mostly non-tank gear. The tank goes on and says "Rez me and good luck finding another tank!". Lucas just looks at his body, sits on it, and goes "You can run your ass back..." and before he could get back to his body, we kicked him from the group.

I asked from the beginning if I could run with my ravager to level him and the group said they didn't care, so I did. We get through the first couple of bosses without any problems. Then we got to the mechanical boss, and they asked who knew how to do the reaper. I said that I knew how, but that I would prefer not to due to the fact that there was a hunter bug (don't know if it still exists or if it has been fixed) where it would break pets.
Another good reason not to do the reaper if that bug still persists. Second for me is that if I get on the reaper, I can't get out again without relogging, something with the UI I think. Never had any problems with people getting mad over that though.

WOW :lol If you had time, you could have said.. im not dps I am healer!!

I was in one DM group with me, another hunter, tank, healer and a pally.

And I swear almost every pull, the healer would drop mid pull!.. Like why.. why drop mid pull! It happened twice, so when the third healer came in the pally was like.. if this healer drops mid pull to.. I can somewhat heal.

Other then that it all worked ok!

Before that in a another dungeon. I had a hunter who didnt like to take out his pet.. it was not until the end after me telling him multiple times.. that he finally took out his pet...

That trogg *does* enrage the boss in Grim Batol, Taluwen, but you're absolutely correct in that it's a pain in the ass to kill the other adds if they're not being tanked. We usually just pull that add out and CC it, then proceed as usual.

Ugh, I just had a run with a bad hunter. Not only that, he made me look bad too! Two hunters = double traps, amirite? No, not so. Tank used square and diamond, so I said I'd trap diamond. I ask if everyone is ready and fire off my trap. Next I know, two traps are hitting diamond. Wth? So I wyvern sting the square, but it managed to get chaotic for a moment. Next pull, I ask if he wants to do diamond, I'll just grab square. No response. So I grab square, just to see his pet dash for it. =_= That pull ALSO somehow worked out ok, but his pet died. We didn't see poor Cat until the end of the Lady Naz'jar fight, which he spent CCing my targets. This time the tank had called out which hunter to CC which side, and yet there he was, CCing my targets. It was complete chaos, the adds weren't dying fast enough because he wasn't following kill or CC order and just all over the place... and man, he made me feel like such a bad hunter, with clearly defined CC targets just running free. *sigh*

For what it's worth, I think the tank was laughing at the whole debacle. :?

Does he? I've never had to CC him or anything. Usually the tank just grabs them up and we maul them before anything is really noticed. This tank was telling me to take ALL the adds and kite them around.....which is stupid and not necessary, even on heroic.

*comforts Sara* I hate that. :/

And yep, Taluwen, that's how it goes - it's a much bigger issue on heroic. And yeah, there's no reason for anyone other than the tank to have the rest of the adds. I seem to recall having a similar bad experience with a tank who refused to pick them up, then proceeded to bitch at the group for not dpsing them down.

*gives hugs to Sara too* Guh....I've had that....and it's those kinds that get snapped at very quickly.....or kicked.

Yeah. It's a little more important on heroic but long as they die, you dont even notice they did anything to the boss.

Depends on the group's gear, actually! We've run with some lesser geared tanks and absolutely HAD to control that one add or else he'd get trucked during the enrage phase at the end due to the double buff (regular enrage plus add's enrage).

I usually run with guildies and most of them are pretty much are almost cata raid ready.

More of an annoyance than anything else, but meh....

Was running Stonecore on Kallimon with Praline, my purple hyena. After downing the second boss, Praline happened to do a PetEmote that I didn't see, but the rogue commented on, saying that he'd hit her with a newspaper if she did that again. I happened to notice he was from an RP server, so I'm not sure if that's his idea of RPing, but considering that he dropped group not two pulls after that, after dinging 85, I'm inclined to think not. He was unguilded, so maybe he's not too popular over there either. At any rate, the rest of the group was very nice (all but one were from Echo Isles, and they didn't seem to queue together, so yay for those people!). Sadly, this was the second time this had happened to the tank in the past couple of days....not that it's an especially terrible problem for a tank to get a new dps. xD

You got lucky....

I was hopped into a group with Lucas. Lucas was having trouble with this group. Tank and DPS had left and they got two new ones. Another DPS dropped and Lucas brought Jessibelle in(me). They were on the last boss of Throne of Tides heroic. No one but me and Lucas knew the fight so I quite clearly explained it. The other hunter was being sarcastic with me the entire time....tanks ignored any instruction I gave them and the mage kept standing in black crap.....-.-; we left after the 6th wipe....

so today I had a "crappy group". DK gnome tank, enh shammy, hunter, pally healer and myself on my boomy. We got...umm forget name, the dungeon with all the dragonkin, the long mob heavy one. Anyhow, the tank had never been there before and didnt really wait for instructions, the hunter didnt know what CC was...or trap launcher, or how to use it. And our pally healer was in mostly lv 80 greens and we were all lv 85. Healer could bearly keep tank alive let alone group so I found myself desperatly throwing out heals and DoTs, and finally by the 2nd boss, I took the oppertunity while we waited for him to pat back around to stealthly switch to Resto, and get my gear set and buff myself. It was a good thing I did else we would have wiped serveral times over. I never mentioned to the group that I was resto spec'd now, just went on Dots and Hots and hoped for the bast. shortly after though the tank DC'd so we waited a bit and got a druid tank...who usually played in resto spec and was new to tanking...

So A tank that usually heals, a healer who cant heal, a hunter who doesnt know how to CC, an Ehn shammy that seemed to know what he was doing, and Myself double rolling.

Every pull was a gamble on whether we'd live or wipe, and somehow we always seemed to just scrape by with most of our hides intact, and somehow we managed to get through the whole thing, even managing to get the adds down in time on the last fight. After the fight, the Pally whispered his thanks to me for helping with the heals, and then the shammy whispered me about how relieved he was that we'd made it through with such a mismatched group, and a thanks for the awsome juggeling job I'd done keeping everyone alive and still burning mobs and bosses down.

I felt pretty good
