Me and Skoll don't get along

So while doing my early morning(Normally starts at 6:45am) rounds for Northrend rares(ever hopeful I'll find TLPD) I stumbled upon Skoll. Cool. I have a friend who is normally on in the morning who was too low to tame him last time he found him. So I figured since no one was on in the morning I'd camp with Skoll, keep him safe and wait for my buddy to wake up. A Priest tried to kill Skoll but I stopped him, got on an Ally toon and talked to him. Explained what I was doing and he said he understood since he had a hunter too. At 7:10am a friend of the guy I was waiting for got on, and since I know they work with each other, I told him to try to get his buddy on. He text, phoned, all that stuff. No answer. Turns out he was taking a break from work. Great. We tried until 8, when the other guy had to go to work. I said I'd watch Skoll until 10 then home him. The guy said I had more willing than him.

So another hour of nothing. Boring watching Skoll walk about but I knew my buddy wanted him. So I was willing to wait. But I just happened to notice a red dot on my mini map and looked to see a level 80 Worgen hunter landing. I hunter marked him to try to scare him off, I was there first after all. He wavered then tried to land so I shot him a few times. He flew up and just hovered out of reach. I called out Dabih, my red madexx and watched him like a hawk. For a good 5 minutes nothing happened until I saw another red dot on my map. A level 79 priest. Oh great. I knew what was gonna happen and it did. They both landed and the preist put bubbles on both of them. Dabih tore off after the priest and I...Killed Skoll then made swift work of the two Allies.

TL;DR Found Skoll early this morning, waited two hours for a friend to get on, Hunter+Priest combo tried to sneak Skoll away from me, killed Skoll, killed Allies. QQed.

Of the three Skolls I've found in the last two weeks two have been killed. What's with fate and not letting me rehome the beauty? And my buddy STILL isn't up. I'm gonna have to kick him...Hard.

Personally, you should've let them have Skoll. I think killing him to ensure another hunter doesnt get him is kinda selfish. Your friend wasnt able to get him. That's sad but I don't agree with what you did at all. :/

It'd be one thing if your friend was on their way to get him. It's another if your friend isnt online at all and wont be for hours.

wait you killed Skoll so a hunter couldn't tame him?

Especially for a friend who "may" log on.... keyword "may".

If that worgen would post on these forums about how someone killed a rare from under them, I would be one of the first people to go to that topic and say "what a jerk that horde was!"

Seriously though, now you just added another in the competition for Skoll. Think about that. If the worgen would have gotten him, he would not be competing with your friend anymore for that pet. Who knows that hunter could now kill your friend while your friend is taming Skoll, and then proceed to tame him... that would be Karma

I dont get the mindset of PVP server players sometimes, it warps some of your peoples brains... "If i cant have him, or my friend cant have him, THEN NOBODY CAN". I think it just breeds mean-players and mean behavior (even though there are a plenty amount of nice players out there).

I'm not going to comment on the PVPness, as others have already done so. XD

But I just wanted to say that was very kind of you to watch Skoll for so long. How many hours was that? If I were your friend, I would be quite touched by the thought.

I like that you focused on the positive part of the story.

Though he should have made the worgen tame it. He would've gotten a timer anyway.

The first time I saw Skoll (and _NPCScan alarm goes off) I immediately search around to find his corpse. I was sadden, but I managed to tame him the next day.

skoll is probably the most rehomed of the spirit beasts i've come across. oddly always spawning in the same spot.

i think the reason you havent been able to find him alive again is the curse that comes with killing a spirit beast :p
