Ok so I know I have a post already already about these guys but as I ran out of characters on the last post, I figured I would add this. It will be a quick overview and important key points and less of a wall of words. Perks of having no life.. I can find rares so you dont have to.. and to that I add.. I like long walks on the beach, have brown hair and hazel eyes and am currently single.. jk
Important to know: These guys deal a ton of damage when they are in your face so further distance you have on them the better. Also have on you as much food/health pots etc as you can. You can and will probably die. Lifegiving seed ftw.
What they drop: the tear, so please let a hunter tame it and dont kill it. If someone is currently taming it, be polite guys and let them tame it. There will always be another rare and having a you on their bad side is not a good idea. Having one less person looking for it is a good thing. Hunters code, honor it please.
First spider of the day: Solix (orange)
Spawns: The lava pool as you come in on the right side.
Difficulties while taming: The lava can hit you while you are kiting and stun you. Also if someone is on that quests the mobs can will agro you causing you to get stunned and putting you in combat, making it hard to eat to regain health. Also has LOS issues.
What you should have on your bar:ICe trap, CS, detterence.
What prevents the tame:He is to fast for your tame to go off.
Best way to tame him:Put down your ice trap near his ramp. Wait until your cooldown is up and then pull with a CS. Make sure that he goes the way you want him to, if you jump the gun and are already on the ramp to the next section he will bypass the the ramp and go the other way. Making him miss your trap. Hit him with CS and ice trap until he is at 40%, once he gets to 40% you can tame him. Hit cs, and detterence then tame away.
How he dies:Once he gets to 0% "focus" he will die. So reset him if you will not finish the tame in time.
Interesting note:You will see a grey dot named Solix long before you enter the cave, so entering is not necessary to check. If you dont see the dot hes not there.
Second spider: Anthriss (yellow)
Spawn:He spawns near the path to the spiders where Rags reach is. Hes hard to miss really..
Difficulties while taming: The molten giant... kill him.
What you should have on your bar: Detterence and tame.
What prevents your tame:Him webbing you and you dying first before the tame is done.
Best way to tame him: Go to the lava pool that has the rock in it. Once you are swimming, hit detterence and tame. That should prevent you from getting webbed.
How he dies: I havent a clue.. he killed me though... and second time he killed me but I still tamed him! This was because I wasnt far enough into the lava apparently.. (whoops)
Good idea: Fire resistance gear
Rare #3: Deh tilak (purple)
Spawn: The giant pillars by forlon spire
Difficulties while taming:She will reset if you cut a corner to close and you cant see her. Also the time it takes to kite her and having other people try to "help" or hunters trying to steal your tame. Getting agro on the spiders aroung there.
Debuff/buff:Death strike will one shot you if shes get close to you. It does have a cast time so you do have time to try and get out of range by using CS, trap or having a sacrifice.
Prevents your tame:Molten will: Must be at low health to tame
What you should have on your bar: Snake trap, ice trap, explosive trap, CS, tame beast, disengage, revive pet, tame.
Best way to tame him:Have explosive trap, ice trap, and snake trap all up in a 1 2 3 single file row. May be a great idea to wait on CD for them again. Send in your pet and pull with CS, once your pet dies hit revive and continue using traps, CS, sending in your pet until molten will is off. Normally it will say when.. for me it didnt..
How he dies:People trying to "help" or hunters not wanting to let someone else tame so she goes back and forth until death. And yes that does take awhile.
New EASIER strat (thanks fangsz):What I did was put a snake trap right infront of her and waited for it to go off of cooldown. Then I pulled using CS and FD'd, youll have to continously kite and snake trap her until shes tameable which for me was pretty annoingly low... FD after the snakes and then I moved back alot to hit her again. I know you should have to but unfortunately my little snakes died before my trap was off of CD and she reset. So just kiting using CS, put a snake trap on her path and then FD so she goes for the snakes works like a charm! Oh just make sure you have a ton of room to tame her, she will still death strike you if you are to close. And... I died right at the end to.. still no clue how
Rare #4: Skitterflame (red)
Spawn:Lava pool at fireplume.
Difficulties while taming: Mobs..
Prevents your tame:He is to hot for you to tame him so you have to cool him down.
What you should have on your bar:Freezing trap, cs, detterence and tame.
Best way to tame him: Kill ALL the mobs around him, you dont want them agrooing you or going into the trap you meant for skitter. Place a freezing trap, then if you want you can wait for CD to go off. Pull with a CS and hit esc immediately to prevent you from breaking your own trap. Move farther up and once he breaks your trap place another one down. Once he hits 20% he is tameable so hit disengage if needed (careful not to fly off.. maybe.. not reccommended) and use CS, detterence and tame.
How he dies: Once he reaches 0% on the second bar so its extremely important to break him out of the trap once he gets tameable! Reset if necessary.
Rare 5: Kirix (green)
Spawn:The furnace
Difficulties while taming:He charges you and breaks your tame alot.. frequent air miles.. he paths through the left side of the furnace and is extremely fast. Watch his pathing and choose a good position.
Prevents your tame:Your death
What you should have on your bar/on:Cs, detterence, aspect of the wild, any NR gear you have, haste pots, core hound..
Best way to tame him:Hit him with CS, hes immune to all traps, use your pots, detterence, core hound, detterence and hit tame and just pray..
How he dies:He doesnt.. you do. Or mean people who.. are mean.
(please note: I have only found him once so I am working on a better way to tame him then what I did before of hitting tame and hope to get lucky
)
