i finally tamed deth. i know there is already a guide on him but ill give you the one i use. He is a great pet and is very cool looking. now here is how i tamed:
to start the fight i popped a snake trap right under him. I had another hunter clear the spiders around the area so i can kite him around.everytime u put down a snake trap and he hits it feign death and let him kill snakes. dont shoot him when he is hitting snakes or u will take aggro.(note. everytime he kills something he loses a lot of health). after kiting around useing this method he will be yours. GL ALL
yea i sacrafised my friend to kirix so i could make a tame without stuns. FOR THE SPIDER GODS! =p he did not mind though because i got him the owl and skitterflame
blizz should not remove because it would take at least 30 min of kiting to tame him. No one wants to kite for 30 min then prob get it stolen. if they remove deth is off my tame list
I think itll be fine, and dont think blizzard would remove it. It is still essentially kiting we are just using snakes what they are intended for, keeping agro and attacking. I actually think it just sounds alot better then having to sacrifice your pet or friends though alot less fun on the friends part.
The only thing is, Deth'tilac is supposed to be the hardest of them all, so if snakes make the whole process too easy, then it kind of defeats the purpose. The timer can always be chopped down by sacrificing friends in her melee range.
Taming Deth generally reminds me of when I tamed Theseus (King Krush) with two horde trying to kill him/me: it wasn't easy by any means, but that tame was absolutely the most satisfying one I've ever completed.* If that's the level she's meant to be at as well, then I can understand that.
*That's in terms of the actual physical tame itself. There were other more emotional tames, which are a completely other story.
Well we will have to see what happens with it. It does make it easier but it only took me 10 minutes to tame her for the revive pet method which probably would have been less had I been paying attention and tamed her as soon as I could instead of waiting on the message
I fully understand what you are saying My krush means the world to me just because of the 2 months to get him after 5 getting killed on me. It was the most satisfying tame ever.
You know, I had actually planned to do this should I ever find Deth on live (As I'm not able to use the PTR due to my own incompetence...), not to steal your thunder or anything. But I just kept on thinking it probably wouldn't work, or that Deth wouldn't use his oneshotter on the snakes, so I didn't want to post it just to be wrong >_>
Either way, grats on the tame man, that is one helluva spider :3

wow grats on the tame... i do agree the snake traps method will make this a lot easier.. but also will make it a lot harder to tame as a competition. that being said getting him to low health.. and a greedy hunter comes in and drops his snake traps or even sacrificing his own pet to kill him preventing you to tame him =/
You know, going PVP MM spec with Trap Mastery would make this quite silly. There are what, 14 freaking snakes? and Readiness for a new trap right away (and FD reset). Does he still use Deth Strike below 10% health?
