Question about NPC scan

Is there anyway to add in rares and have it add it to all my toons scan list?

I put a settings file together that includes all known rares. First, close the game.
Second, download this file:
http://wowui.pastey.net/144780+
Then place it here:
WoW/WTF/Account/{AccountName}/{ServerName}/{CharacterName}/SavedVariables/_NPCScan.lua

Note that it will only work for English clients.

It could work something like that, but that is probably outdated, and does not include the newest rares. If you just copy it to all characters you want it on, you should be fine. I guess?

If you want specific mobs in the scan list you can just add their ID, which is the set of numbers at the end of a mob's url on WoWHead. For instance, Spiteflayer's ID is 8299 as shown by the url: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=8299.
ID's added this way can be seen over all toons

Hm, yes, that is true too x)
I had forgotten about that:p reason I remembered the text file was that I like having my npcscan go off for all rares, and that's how I did it.

I generally also use silver dragon, it's a great addon to find the old world rares and what not.

Here is a file of every rare (plus semi-rares like Brilliant Macaw) for NPCScan. Open NPCScan through World of Warcraft -> WTF -> Account -> AccountName -> Server -> CharacterName -> SavedVariables -> _NPCScan and copy/paste what I have in the .txt file into the .lua one. Make sure to backup your old NPCScan file just in case.

Currently updated for 4.1. Working on getting it updated for 4.2 if I can get the NPC IDs for the new rares.
