We were allowed to "deside" which talent tree the single pet belonged to?)
Liike we hunters can choose what talent we will be, i think our pets should have the feature too, with the possibility to respec
I would love to have a cunning worm and a ferocity worm... For me it will just provide a greater utily of pet useage and which pets you bring to a dungeon...
What do u guyes think?
I really like that idea but all the work the original owner of petopia (dunno the name they're known by), mania, wain, and noah's work would be all for naught... but i do really like that idea lol in terms of game play. I would love to never ever have my warpstalker leave my side just cause i was doing some questing that required my pets tanking abilities and then all of a sudden my dungeon finder pops and i gotta change the pet to a dps one
damn now im really torn on it, i really like how petopia's set up but its a really awesome idea if blizzard decided that

The only thing that one can count on is change.... From it's humble beginnings, so much data has been gathered... stored and even made redundant. Over years, over months, over night, all due to the every changing world of warcraft. Pet levels, ability learning, ability training, feeding, skills, stats, happiness all these things have been studied, scrutinized, structured over the last 6 years. All to be slowed altered and changed and removed and will most likely continue to do so in the future.
I guess it's just the great scheme of things, but I doubt that any of these great guys and gals you have mentioned would have regretted the fun they had being a part of them while they were around. The idea of being able to let you choose what tree your pet should belong to is a rather intriguing idea for sure. It would take a bit of fine tuning on blizzards behalf, but if they made it an option, I'm sure it would be give hunters the most amazing amount of choice and diversity in regards to choosing what pet we wish to have at our side

Yea i agree with you there Spirit but id be pretty devastated for at least a little while to have everything i worked on erased in a moment 'so-to-say' if it was done, but yea the memories will always be there for everyone who was here when things werent so refined

I think the desire of being able to choose ones pet spec has been a high demand from hunters since the introduction of pet talent tree's. It is certainly one I support 100%. Blizzard has said numerouse times that they do not want everyone to feel like they HAVE to run around with THEE pet, that they want hunters to be able to have a veriety of choices in pets to use. And yet, we are being told by blizzard that this pet is a Tank, this is a ferocity, and this is a cunning one. Which IS limiting how/when we can use certain pets. I would like to see pet choices (specs) in the hands of the hunters and not limited by what someone at blizz thinks a pets spec should be.

I agree hunters have always been about vareity and not having to stick with one thing... but instead stick with your favorite thing. Thats why I liked back in classic when you could give your pet x ability or y ability and not z ability and what not.
I would support this 100% and argue on the side of it like I tend to do with things >.>

I don't see how it would undo all the work on Petopia. Merely add another facet to it.
I think it makes sense for at least some families, if not all, to fit at least two specs. For example there's no reason a bear shouldn't be ferocity at the expense of its tanking skills. And no reason a ravager couldn't tank.
Then again, perhaps not every spec for every family... A cunning turtle? Maybe not.

I don't want to be a party pooper, but I think there's one thing currently preventing this; other classes being able to tell the spec of your pet in terms of PVP and whatnot. Now, as much as WoW has changed during the years I aint' saying being able to choose your pets spec will never happen but I think it's currently something they do not want to add? :/ (Yes I admit I too would love to have some of those cunning owls come as ferocity pets instead or what have you.)
It's a bit similar to how players can recognize and "size up" other player characters by their looks and gear, I think.
I would love this idea, myself. Like a few others have mentioned, it would be amazing if Whitney could be by Constantyne's side 24/7 - not have to get swamped out for a tank that I'm not super bonded to just because the need arose. I think that the pets being divided by the three specs kind of limits the connections you have with some of them. I think a hunter's pet should be a bond, not just the pet who has the right spec to get the job done at the time. But sometimes you just don't HAVE a bond with a pet of a certain spec. For instance, I have never been able to find a tanking pet that really suits Constantyne well
Thank you so much Litlemouse for my amazing signature!
The idea does appeal to me greatly. For some reason a great deal of my favourite pets turn out to be Tenacity, and while they have their wonderful uses, it's my Ferocity pets that get the most usage overall.
Having a Ferocity warp stalker or crocolisk would make my day.
hehe same her Vep.. i love the look of many tenacity pets, but rarely uses them .. so if i could make then ferocity or cunning that would just be grand!
