The Ghost Saber of Mathystra (Short story)

Unread post by Kylah »

Before I begin, I want to say that I did indeed just tame my Ghost Saber, and it only took 5 statues :o

Kylah's leather boots made no sound as the hunter crept about the ruins of Mathystra, seeking Night Elf relics to return to her employers. Avoiding trolls cautiously, she slipped behind a few trees, spotting a relic not far away. She took the few steps over to it, then glanced about to make sure no one hostile was near. Kylah knelt down and picked up the purple and white cat statue, feeling its smooth surface with her fingers. Sighing, the young Night Elf put the item in her backpack and began to rise to her feet. Behind her she heard a ghastly growl, not like any a cat of Darkshore would utter. Turning slowly, Kylah placed a hand on her sword, preparing to defend herself from her other worldly foe. When she had turned around, it took her a moment to see the creature, and when she did, a quiet gasp escaped her. He was a large cat, nearly two thirds the size of her Frostsaber, and transparent. Should he had been solid, he would have been covered in short, white fur, with darker gray spots over it. An eerie light blue light shimmered off of the ethereal cat's "hide" as he stood before Kylah, the ghastly growl still reverberating from his throat. Kylah didn't know what to do, merely standing still and staring, amazed, at the Ghost Saber. Recalling a legend her mother had told her of the Ghost Saber of Mathystra, she hurriedly pulled out the cat statue, showing it to the cat. Cocking his head to one side, the great cat bowed his head dutifully, trotting to his new master's side. Kylah smiled, triumphant. 'The old tale worked. Whomever held the Ghost Saber's statue shall be his master. As long as they keep it, he shall guard them and give his life for them. Perhaps I can train him to stick around for when I don't have it with me...' She thought, running a hand along the cat's back. It was an odd feeling, petting his strange, ghost fur.
"Come, Phantom. It is time you met the others." She said quietly, placing the statue back in her pack, and creeping back to camp.

There it is ^^ The taming part is a little lame, but I wrote this in a little over 5 minutes, so it isn't the greatest  I hope you enjoyed it!

And the story I'm talking about in the poll above is this: I would make a new hunter and as I level write a story. I would write it kind of like a pet journal, but more like a story, not a journal, and I can't write first person for beans, so it would be third-person like the story above. And I would try to get screenshots for you all too :D

Also keep in mind that that thingy above was written quickly, so it's a little sloppy and lame

Thanks for reading!
