Pet bug as Survival hunter

So as a follow up from my thread about my pet getting instagibbed, I did some retracing of my steps and experimenting and figured out what the heck happened. There's a bit of a bug occuring, seemingly only in survival spec, that causes your pets stats not to update so they hang around at their default amount of HP. I made a video to show how it works, but basically if you zone into the front from hyjal as surv on a mount that auto-converts and then cast eagle eye out into egyptland before dismounting, your pets stats won't update.

Er, are you sure it's just as survival? As a BM hunter, Novi's pet can go a very long time without a stats update. :/ I'm gonna have to give this a whirl when I get home.

Edit: I have seen that sic 'em seems to be bugged for one thing.

I'm sure. I did this several times as Surv, stood around for 10 minutes once even, and the stats never updated. Tried it as BM a few times and the pets stats scaled up as normal within a few seconds.

That portal seems bugged though. Going through it either way, if youre wearing a guild tabard that gives you more guild rep, the buff from it vanishes, and you have to unequip it then reequip it to get the buff back. I know it's not really pet related, but it is happening with that portal only so far.

Just a bump, it's not limited to the firelands portal looks like. I was able to replicate it in Tol Barad, but once again only in Surv spec.

(I also just tamed Deth, but that's for another thread lol)
