Green Madexx an epic fail and a mad cat... [img heavy]

Unread post by Finduilas »

The past two days I had been hanging out with Larkania, my lvl 83 Tauren Hunter in Uldum. Doing quests and looking for Madexx. I already have red Madexx with Findu and as I alsways wanted blue or green Madexx, but don't have any free stable slots with her, I decided to rehome Madexx to Larkania. At first I wanted to replace red Madexx with green or blue, if I ever stumbled across one of them, but Regin has really grown on me and right now I can't stand the thought of dismissing him.
This is how my epic fail began. As I wrote, Larkania is 83 - Madexx is 84. I just didn't look it up, for I tamed him when Findu was 85...
I just got back from the city and had this FEELING. I logg in Larkania and NPC-Scan scares the heck out of me as it announces Madexx. I have red one cached, so it had to be any other colour. I get excited, fly over, spot him - it's the GREEN one *yay*. I land my mount, dismiss my rhino (the one from the random pet challenge <3 ), excitedly hit tame - no reaction. I panick, hit tame again - then I read: Your too low to tame this beast.
Image
Damn. What shall I do?
I feign death with Larkania, logg her out, panicked to loose this beauty to some random quester killing him in the hope for epics. I enter world with Findu - but, as told above, not a single stable slot free with her. I didn't want to take Morga, my orc, as he lives in Thunderbluff and the journey would be to long (even with my portal-clothes to Tol Barad) to get him to Uldum.
I rush to the stable master with Findu - look for a pet I don't really cling to: my colour-changing Deep-Sea-Crab Uppsala (named after a swedish town). I pack her in and rush to the portal to Uldum. I fly up to where I'd seen Madexx with Larkania (the northern point).
He is still there, slowly wandering around.
Image
I land, still have my crab out - dismiss her - hit tame and: "you already have too many pets" - what the ...?
Then it begins to dawn on me: you didn't release Uppsala, you just put her back... I summon Uppsala back at my side, while Madexx is happily chewing on Findu's shoulders. Of course Uppsala attacks instantly - I fumble panicked around untill I press the right button to dismiss her. Then I wanted to start the tame.
BUT:
*rrrrroooooorrrrrr* *humpf*
One of my cats just had decided to come and visit me. Both my cats love to sleep between my keyboard and my screen like in this pic:

So my cat trampled over my keyboard, hitting several numbers, attacking Madexx with Findu's staff. (well at least she was not so far away, that serpent sting would have worked)
I yell at my cat (it was the black and brown one - Nala, who usually is really calm and friendly) to move her back out of my line of sight - but of course just right now, she just stays put and doesn't sit down. Her whole body is covering my screen.
Madexx is still taking bites of Findu slowly tearing her apart - lucky enough I had put on aspect of the wild, so his poison doesn't hurt THAT much.
Finally I manage to persuade Nala to settle down and can see again. I hastily press tame - still having 82% of my health (love you my pvp gear - so much health is finally good for something) - and he shrinks down at Findu's side.

I haven't come up with a name yet, as I first didn't plan to keep Regin and just wanted to rename him - but it doesn't fit. I can't leave Regin and green one is really different, so he deserves a different name.
I'm a little disappointed, that I wasn't able to give green beauty to Larkania, perhaps I will rehome him, to her, if I ever see him again, and release Findu's back into the wild.
But so far - exciting tame (perhaps my most confused one ever, besides from Banny with Morga...) - and I really love the green colour!

Hahaha, what a great tame story! Cat on keyboard is always a bossfight I have to battle, too. Somehow, kitties just know the right time to jump up. I was sending out an important e-mail earlier, and of course my Boykitty leaps up and hits a whole lot of random keys...ended up having to rewrite the whole mess. I can only imagine how stressful it would be if he jumped up during a rare tame! Adorable kitty pics, though. You put in a lot of work to get your green Madexx, and he stuck around just for you. Grats on your tame--even though it wasn't on the character you hoped for, he does look great next to Findu! Good luck on the hunt for Larkania's companion. :)

Those are some naughty kitties! Thats why I have only dogs. My chihuahua hasn't tried getting on my computer yet. She just whines constantly and piddles when people who aren't me touch her. My shorkie is a little nutcase. He bark when a leaf blows outside. It gets sooo annoying sometimes. I have contemplated obediance school. But Maia (the chi) likely isn't smart enough to understand. She has a mental condition. She cries like a baby when something she doesn't like is happening. The Fourth of July was awful. She was just howling. I had to hold her and comfort her and she just shook like a crazy thing!

Grats on greenie, btw. I am still looking for blue. 4 months after I started. Not a single sighting. Not even as another hunter's pet. O.o

Thanks Concussion, that's comforting me a bit, I will decide if I keep him, when/if Larkania gets one. But you're right, he really looks great next to Findu. *already loves Pieks* I named him Pieks, german word for something like "stabbing" (not quite, but I don't know the exact word - will look it up, when I'm back in my flat).
After doing some PvP with Pieks and leaving a few bewildered looking rogues and warriors behind, who were missing their weapons, I really came to love the green model, too.

@Sarantha: Haven't seen blue one on my server either, not even as pet on alliance side... He's really shy :)
Poor little dog ouf yours - I'm glad we don't have our National Day as much celebrated in Germany, as you have. At new year's eve, Nala went hiding behind our shoes and didn't come out again, until a few hours later, when everything had become quiet again. I think it would really be too much for having this kind of trouble and noise twice a year...
Good luck for your Blue Madexx hunt!
