Helped Solix get a new home

Unread post by Sarantha »

I was on my alliance DK doing shadow warden dailies and notice Solix is up. I immediately ask in guild. They all respond with "nah, he's ugly" or "No thanks, he's a pain" so I ask in general Molten Front chat. A dwarf immediatlely rushes over and tries to tame him, only to die harshly. I tell him how to tame him and say I'll try and help with chains of ice. So we started again. The dwarf pulled with concuss, ran away like rabid monkeys were chasing him, and I chained Solix to the floor. The dwarf was happy and just stood there and concuss'd/trapped til he was tamable while I kept him chained up for him. The dwarf got the tame off when Solix's energy was at 2%. Phew. That was a close one for both of us. I don't think chains of ice should be coupled with hunter traps on this guy. ><

Ooh, awesome! Glad that story had a happy ending. :)

It sounds like the dwarf just didn't start taming early enough. Unlike Skitterflame, Solix's energy doesn't drop faster when he's slowed; it just goes down gradually over time as long as he's been engaged. (Running him through the lava does NOT restore energy to him, let it be known.) Chains of Ice on Solix is fantastic, since it ultimately means that the hunter doesn't have to kite as far (due to CoI being a REALLY effective slow). :D

As I said, he had no idea how to tame him. I was shouting TAME TAME TAME but he didn't get it until I told him if he didnt tame now it was gonna die. Thankfully, he tamed him. Guess he had a lot of haste. He did have good gear, so prolly lots of haste.

He DIDNT know who Solix was. I had to tell him in whispers. Once I told him, he wanted it because it was rare. Haha.
