hit rateing for hunters

yeah just wondering whats the max for hit. i'm at 16% hit rateing at the moment thats to high right?

Oh yea, way over. 8% is what what you are looking for, or 263 hit rating, unless you take focused aim, in which it goes down to 5%, or 170ish hit. Keep in mind that that's for a mob of 83, or raid boss level.

Just a suggestion, if you have hit trinkets then trade them out for crit or AP trinkets. It may seem like a step back, especially if you go for the ilvl 200 emblem trinkets, but you'll be getting a boost you didn't have before, and you won't be losing anything in return, except maybe an on hit or activated trinket ability.

why is it bad to be over the hit limit?

It's bad in the sense that after a certain point (the cap), you are gaining nothing from all those extra hit numbers and are essentially wasting what could be other gemming/enchanting opportunities.

Which is more important for a BM hunter? Attack power or critical strike? I ask cause I got this polearm that would give me an additional 100 AP but I would lose 40 crit. When I equip it, my crit rating drops, so I'm not using it. But should I be? And why do polearms have to sit so awkwardly?

Take the ap... 100ap > 40 crit

Cowmuflage, drop the Mark of Supremacy for the Mirror of Truth, that'll help a ton. You don't get QUITE as much AP from the Mirror, but your critical is high enough that it should be going off a lot more often then you could use the Mark. If you can, get greater assault for your boot enchant, and get the stat's enchant for your chest. Get to exhalted with the Knights of the Ebon blade and pick up the helmet enchant from them, and if you can afford it, buy marks for the Sons of Hodir, and get exhalted with them for their shoulder enchants. Those are also BoA, so that's a nice bonus. Hm, pick up an AP enchant for your weapon, and get a scope for your crossbow, preferably the critical one.

And Gim is correct, the AP will do a lot more for you then the critical would.

oh kk luckyly im exalted with all the mount giving fractions then what if i got the mirror and kept the mark? cos i dont really need the voodo thing i only have that for the lols

That'll work too. Though your hit rating will still be way to high, you'll at least be able to use the Mark for it's on use affect.

Eh, There is NO problem with someones hit being over cap, AS LONG AS the Points that you have extra in Hit, can't be swapped out for something of better use, for Example, an enchant or Gem...
