DISCOVERY: A New Bugged Pet

Unread post by Lazurianis »

So yesterday my friend whispers me "Hey wanna get a cool new pet?" Thinking its a rarespawn I reply "Yeah sure what is it?" He tells me "Its a fire." I go "Lol wtf" so he does a few quests in the Southern Barrens and he tells me "Go tame that raptor" So I begin taming him, at 2 seconds I see him look like hes about ready to kill it but it BURST into flames, he says "Revive it" so I did, and when I revived it: It was a Flame Path Pet, I think to myself "How in the world did you discover this?" I gave him my thanks and now I figured i'd share it with all the good hunters of World of Warcraft

Links:
The Quest Mob
The Quest Item
The Quest Objective

How to acess the quest:
1) Do all three quests from Muyoh
2) Speak to Naralex
3) Pick up Biological Intervention the rest is explained below

How to tame your flame path pet Sucessfully:

1) Get a friend to do the short quest chain
2) Explain to your friend once you hit "Tame Beast" to watch till the last two seconds to use the item.
3) If you did it right your pet will burst into flames and you can rezz it!

Here are a few things I discovered with this pet:
1) It can die while retaining the flame effect
2) It is STILL a Raptor so you train it however you like
3) [IMPORTANT]: USING THIS IN PVP IS AN EXPLOIT (This includes Battlegrounds, RBGs, Arenas, Duels, and World PVP) [Because you can't target him]
4) Bringing this pet into Arenas will revert him to his normal appearance.
5) YOU can die with this pet out and he'll still be a flame path.

If you have any questions or concerns please post it in the comments and post ideas on this pet. Thanks  and Good Luck to you all getting this pet :D

Pro Tip: Only use this pet in PVE we don't want blizz to hotfix this guy thanks :D

Read the post more closely. Several comments in the topic already have the guide to taming it.

Plus it's not something we're gonna be able to keep anyway mostly likely so no point in some huge guide. ^^;

also, a quick correction to your "guide": it IS targetable in PvP.

A bit of palindromic wisdom:

Only by tab targeting, not by clicking. Thats the part that makes it an exploit.

Even though there is an existing thread about it, I think the poster should get at least a nod the time it took to put the info together. :)

Eh...like I said...that info was gathered already in the other thread. It's just not on the first post.

Thank you, Lazurianis, for posting this guide. While the info may not be new, I respect the time you took in writing it all out and providing links and source material.

Also, as an aside to others in general, let's not rain on people's parades just because we don't agree on something. Good lord.

No one is doing anything of the sort, Ikutai. They're just informing them that the information was provided awhile ago. Chillax. :) Nothing to start a kerfluffle over and flailing about as if something exploded. Everything is okay. The effort was appreciated, despite it was unnecessary. Thats all.

With that being said, I'm going back to my tiny catnap and camping Spiteflayer.

Pretty sure the kerfluffle hasn't been started. In fact it's still in the garage with the slip cover on it.

And all flammable and explosive materials are still intact, so I don't believe I've done any flailing about as it were.

Guess things on the internet really can be hard to ascertain. ;)

using a smiley can go a long way. It's hard to read tone over a computer. ;)
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

not entirely true: if you have nameplates showing, you can easily target the pet.

I had some friends try that and they still couldn't target it.

I tried it and had absolutely no problem targeting my pet, either from a same-faction duel, or from an opposite-faction duel. as long as name plates are active/visible, there is no issue with targeting the pet.

I believe that I remember somewhere posting somewhere that they tested, and with duels, it worked. However, if they flagged for pvp in a remote location and called a friend from the opposite faction over, the pet wasn't targettable when it was actually "flagged for pvp" or something...

Thats a bit harsh and entirely your own opinion.

Great guide though, I think its great that its sumed up altogether. I think perhaps the title should be changed to "How to tame Fire pet guide" or something similar to that.
