I cant find the "right" pet
My hunter has long been happy with Loque and Jhuurike, but lately i cant find any happiness with a pet, ive been taming nearly eveything that can walk, yet im not happy. I've been dieing for hydras but maybe im just greedy, i dont know anyone else having a similar problems?

Whenever I find myself dissatisfied with everything, that's a sign I need to take a break from the game.

Sometimes I wish I could play petless, but I want stuff to just die so I can carry on. Tht's why I LOVED that tiny beetle; it almost felt like I had no pet.
The glyph doesn't affect them enough to make it feel like they aren't there, I did try that.

I really bonded with the Lone Hunter, a non-rare wolf found in Plaguelands. I named him Ned after my favorite book character. I also, strangely, bonded with Karoma, a spirit wolf. Perhaps I just like wolves a lot. What is your favorite animal in real life? Perhaps taming a pet of the same family might make you more able to bond with it and enjoy having it out.

Part of Dynasty, lvl 25 Alliance guild, casual and hardcore (your choice, no one forces you to raid, but you can), very helpful
Come on over if interested (Runetotem US, Horde name Sarantha, Ally name Ellysetta or Valeraud)

A unique cat model is Sambas. No other cat looks like him and I think he would be a good pet for you. He's not hunched like some cats, he's not a tiger, and his lion model is so different from other lions.

Well if cats aren't working, whats another animal you like? Or...... if you don't want a pet at all, perhaps try a different class? Not sure how helpful that would be.

When in doubt, see something tame it. You never know what'll click until you tame it
That happens to me alot.. sadly too often.. my stables are getting very full now.

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
You could try what I did, and decide to go petless until you find one that speaks to you. Of course, I say that and then didn't even make it out of the first zone without taming something. But that was because Purcival (my brown lynx) really called to me somehow. But I had fully intended on going as long as necessary without a pet until I found one that I felt I had to tame.
So, maybe you could try just flying solo for a while, and keep a spot open just in case something tickles your fancy. If there's anything I've learned so far, it's that a beast will keep poking at the back of my mind until I tame it. First Purcival, now Boris. Both of them, I tried to ignore and continue questing, but finally I felt that I couldn't get them out of my mind so I gave them a chance. And both times, I haven't been disappointed.
So, try it out and see what happens!
Good luck!

Honestly.... RP and I'm serious make a back story for the pet you may bound quicker. Hey it's what I'm doing now heh. If I can't make a story for them they get released.

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
I have one slot in my stables open, and thats for my hydra, at the moment it had a tall strider in it
I named him Randy, did two dungeons with him... then started changing between my 4 main pets.
@ Rhyela
I would fly solo but ive played BM forever. And BM kinda neeeds a pet out... I only have a marks spec for silence, i cant get comfortable with it or survival, the rotations arent nearly as fun.
And changing classes? I do have a druid 85, pally 85, mage 82 and DK 81 (and another 85 hunter) and alts of every other class atleast 30, i just cant find a fit better than a hunter, the class is a smoothe work of art for me. Everything i could want in a class is in my hunter, who was my first character. And for the longest time, up until wrath i was content with my first cat, Who i still have btw. Raided, quested pvp'd all the rogues complaining about the bleed, but after my character had changed so much, and she had stayed the same... i guess ii got tired of seeing the same pet. wrath i casually tamed things till i saw loque for the first time, it wasnt he was a spirit beast, it wasnt he had the moon fire, he had the coolest model i had ever seen. I wanted him so badly and when i worked for almost two months getting him i felt amazing, and i NEVER used any other pets (short of the hydra and krush thing) other than bragging rights and taming. And i replaced my beloved compainion the second cata hit, i grabbed Jhuurike (orange silithid collosus) and love the crap out of him till my break from wow, then when i came back i had the same problem. i was bored of this pet, he has stamina and web, nice for pvp, but i stopped pvping, the stam is useless because almost every group has a priest or warrior, and thats when i went on my decline,
I came back, first thing i did was tame the fire raptor... he was all i used.... for three days, then i just lost interest. then tamed a bear, tallstrider, beetle, spore bat, fox, dog, crab, spider, hyeana, rhino, parrot, another cat, wolf, chimara (sp), devilsaur, started using other spirit beasts, owl, silithid, ravager, nether ray... and all the same, i tried keeping to a "you must use him for atleast a week deal" but i couldnt bear looking at them. I dont know maybe i just cant be happy with a pet, i could try the RP thing but im not really big on that. And with the chance of hydras in 4.3 i really want the orange and black hydra, but i might not tame him i want to have interest in it, but im afraid ill get bored of him too... *frustrated grunt*

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
Yeah, the game was more exciting to me back when it was all new. Which is probably why some people grow tired of it after awhile. This happened to all my friends and brother and boyfriend, but they all played longer than me... and now its starting to happen to me. I still like some parts of it, but I already know I'm not gonna buy another time card for awhile. So when my time is up in a week, I am gonna be moving on for a bit.Cerele wrote:maybe wow just isnt the game for me any more, but ive put so much effort and money into it i dont want to drop it,

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
Ding ding ding! You are going through what I went through. I sorely missed the feeling of questing with my brother when I was a complete noob (I got gear because it was pretty rather than stats, so I had a lot of strength/spirit/etc. crap), and missed the newness of it all. Nothing at all was fun anymore. I hated raiding (still do, actually), hate dailies; I hate all of that end-game crap, so I just got fed up and stopped playing. I had no interest in it anymore and I never planned on coming back.Cerele wrote:maybe wow just isnt the game for me any more, but ive put so much effort and money into it i dont want to drop it,

I took a long, long break; it was several months, probably. I played Rift a bit during that time, but it's still another MMO (I do still like it, though!). I finally realized that I needed a break from MMOs in general, so I put them all down and went and played consoles for a few months. Slowly, WoW pulled me back in. I waited a long time before coming back because I wanted to make sure it was the right time. Come back too early and you could still get bored. So, I played consoles up until the thought of doing yet another run-through of Dragon Age made me want to gag, and knew it was time to come back.
When I did come back (and convinced my brother to come back, too!; just like old times!), I started out on a new server (well, technically my very first server ever before I left it and went to Ysera). We had no money, no BoA gear, no guild, no nothing. We started out 100% fresh.
We left behind a lot, too. I have all those mains I spent years building, all that time, effort and money. But I honestly don't care now. I don't feel bad about leaving them all behind. I needed time away to separate myself from all that. I will say that doing it how we did has done a world of good. I'm a little annoyed that it's so easy to level up, even without help. We out-level a zone before we're even done with the quests there. The economy is so jacked up (but it works in our favor, too) and it's so busy. But even still, it is great to be a noob again. And for all intents and purposes, on this realm, I am a noob. I've got nothing and know no one, except my brother. Plus, I've been Alliance almost my entire WoW life so this time, I went Horde. It's neat to see things from the other side for a change. I don't really like how they (read: orcs) seem so warmongerish, but the Alliance isn't exactly a bunch of saints, either.
My advice to you, then, is to take a break. Take longer than two months, and only come back when you feel you are absolutely ready. If you feel like you'll never come back, then you have to accept that. We can't hold onto everything in our lives just because we put time and money into it. I mean, relationships come and go (time and money), we don't keep the same car forever and ever (time and money). A game and the characters in it is no different.
We wish you all the best!

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
As far as keeping myself interested in the game, I have found starting from scratch over on a new server to be quite interesting. What I have been doing, is that I made all 10 classes and characters on that server, and I have been leveling them all 10 levels apart from one another. (After I got them all to 20 anyways.) So even though I was in the same content and dungeons for longer because of the 10 characters, its helped me stay interested because each character is different, and the new leveling content with quests is good too. Ive also enjoyed using the lowbie battlegrounds to level my characters up as well.
I am also another one that feels like you should take a break, but at the same time wanted to give insight in what I have found in the game to keep me interested these last few months.

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
I agree about takeing a break, my husband and I left the game for 9 months (closer to 11 for me) I had gotten so jaded with everything and everyone. Hated dealing with other players and thier "Im the elitie of the elite most elitieness" stuff, it made me want to gag. We also desided some of our probblem was the people in the guild/server and thier attitude so we changed servers and changed guilds till we found a right fit. I have days where my Spores or Sims looks so much more apealing than logging onto WoW (and I let myself have a few days of doing that instead) We have been playing since befor BC and the game WAS much more fun, challangeing and exciteing to play...seems ALOT has been dulled down. Right now I have been trying hard to find a good fiting guild for my allie and give playing my main (Horde loyal will never pvp on my allie but I just love the worgies..they are so squishably adorable) a rest for alittle bit.

So the wind I become...

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
i dont know though, still have a month left to decide (when my card runs out) and ive rather enjoyed my throne of power, unbeaten in duels and usually 1 or 2 in raid damage... maybe i should take a break, but i just want the right pet feeling again before i do,
and i really liked pvp till it turned into horde gank fests on alliance who refuse to listen to requests,
i like dungeons till the trolls came out, i did them when they were raids, ohh change it up and make it the best source of valor.... jerks short of raiding
and the new raids... arent nearly as fun the best one EVER imo obviously was Kara, that took an entire week+ to finish and the fights were fun as hell,
Ohh and old SFK first dungeon i ever did omg i got so pissed when they completely replaced it, that was my favorite, and i agree it is wayyy too damn easy to level now, and BoA's are so broken for low level pvp and pve. I remember back when it would take 1-3 hours to hit level ten, not 10-30 minutes. and no spam bots and when i would piss myself at an unflagged horde (i didnt know i had to be flagged ahh noob days) i earned the title Private cause i pvp'
d like a bawss at lower levels, and then raiding, and ohh my god end game was great, and.... well cata hasnt brought any of that back, and its honestly not nearly as fun, i blew through Cata in like two days. i had lore master and my first raiding cata piece in a month and... then ugh i dont want to quit.. all i have other than this is My little pony junk... lol my xbox is down atm, cable too, and i have little other hobies outside of gaming, i could wait for dead island i guess and quit then... uhh i just dont want to loose all ive worked on these years,

Re: I cant find the "right" pet
I'm feeling the same - I can't find the "right pet" which I think is just a symptom of me being bored with my hunter right now, so I think I'll probably cut back my hours on wow and level up a new baby alt (mage
). I'm just bored with ALL my 85s I guess - I don't do dungeons or raiding, so I just do bgs. And they get stale rather quickly haha.
