Worm vs Ravager
Back before the buff, the choice was easy: Worms are tenacity, Ravagers are Cunning. Worm burrow is pretty awesome for running low-level dungeons, but it was too easy to miss the enemy and the AOE was.... par in raids and instances. At best, so it didn't really come into it. Therefore, easy choice: Ravager in anything.
Not so much, now!
I got ninja-invited to an End Times run, and my party was quick on getting us queued. It wasn't until we were inside that I realized my lineup presently consisted of my Bird Of Prey, my Spirit Beast, my Turtle, my Crab... and my Worm. The only buff I had that the party needed was the +4% damage, and as we were melee-heavy (a paladin, a warrior, and me, as well as the beartank), it was natural to go 'Fine' and bring the worm out to at least offer a little extra to the party since the others didn't offer anything at the moment.
I was pulling 8k+ crits with burrow. And thanks to the wider range on the AOE, I wasn't missing anything other than the CCed stuff.
So now with this buff, I have to wonder: is it possible that my poor little Ravager may become somewhat obsolete? With the damage that Burrow can pull now, would it be better to consider the worm as the prefered 'dungeon pet' in my PUG lineups rather than the Ravager?

Re: Worm vs Ravager
Ravager and Worms dont even have the same abilities so my answer would be no. Bring what you want. I used my worm and did fine long before the buff.

Actually, they do.Jessibelle wrote:Ravager and Worms dont even have the same abilities so my answer would be no. Bring what you want. I used my worm and did fine long before the buff.
Ravage versus Acid Spit
The 'burrow' is the only difference, and back before the buff, it wasn't enough of a deal-breaker in dungeons and raids to make it worth bringing the Worm. The difference in damage was simply not worth the extra AOE except in select fights!

If that's the case, Kurasu, I'd say that yes, you should definitely bring your worm and that ravagers are obsolete....for BM!

Re: Worm vs Ravager
Indeed! Burrow and Froststorm both not only got 20% more powerful, but they now reach in a wider range. In my present gear, I got to see the glorious sight of my worm's burrow capping over 10k in a crit. Considerably more than it was before. 20% is a *lot* when you actually see the numbers on the screen. .... or at least feels like a lot.
