Very crowded at the pandaren starter area

Unread post by Smyelmdar »

I don't know if you guys has seen this, but there is this quest where you have to click on a scroll, and it respawns a bit slow.
This has resulted in a very crowded area. Right now I'm stuck with my second pandaren there, cause it's almost impossible to complete the quest.

This is how it looked last time I was there:

I'll be waiting on the highland, with its wonderful serenity.
Where the stars glow and the brooks flow, that's my way of life.
When the mountains on the highland, and the nature is surrounding me, when the wind blows, that's all I need.

But yeah, put in a ticket or something, they'll have to change it if they can see what's going on!

Not very surprising :/ I have no idea what they were thinking when they did this, other than "let's use any incentive we can to make people buy the annual pass". The numbers are too high for effective bug reporting other than to check how it performs under extreme server load.

Yeah when I get in, I'll play around with pandas on the character creation screen, but at first I'll mostly be hunting wild critters on my main.

I was lucky enough to get swiftly through the pandaren starting area on my first pandaren.
But on the second one, it was like the picture. :S

Remember folks, once it hits live, there is money to be made in areas where there is a quest to kill skinnable mobs. When Wrath launched, the area just outside the Alliance keep allowed me to skin constantly, and not only did I max my skinning in about 30min, but in a hour or two there made over 50k gold from the skinning.

NGL that looks hilarious.

I never understood blizzards need for disappearing static quest items...its very obnoxious when group questing and you have to wait for it to reappear for the 4 schmos that didnt grab the first one.

There's a trick to getting it through the mob. I managed it last night.

There's a spot on the upper right, up above the rivet/nail that holds the scroll on that side. If no one's jumping up and down like a tard (which happens) you can actually stand back from the mob and get a cogwheel. It might help also to stand on the edge of the doorway since there's a little ledge there.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

My friend told me about that, and it did work indeed. But then came the next quests where you have to kill some mobs, and there was so much lag and so many people, that it took forever.
I finally gave up, and will wait some time before I go back there. At least I have my pandaren hunter out of the starting area, so I can always play around with him. :)

I also tried a battleground earlier, and I was the only hunter. 19 monks and a lone hunter. :P

they really should be putting invisible barriers around those npcs until a month or so after launch, specifically to stop this sort of crowding. sadly, a good number of people crowd them intentionally just to annoy everyone else

I'm dreading trying to do anything in the Jade Forest on the first day. I hate that they didn't decide to use two starting zones for Pandaria.

I like to do something the first few days which I know not as many people will be doing like camping a new rare spawn mount or something.

Either that or level via new dungeons first then go do some questing later, once that character is level 90, then make a panda.
