If we do, indeed, get to choose our pets' talent trees in MoP, there are some really strong, and potentially scary (and maybe even overpowered) combinations that will be showing up. Ones that I've been thinking of are the following:
Tenacity Spirit Beast: Here, we have the ultimate soloing pet. A pet that not only has a fairly frequent focus-free self-heal (that is instant-cast, and thus can be cast without having to break its attacks or lose too much in Growl), but that will also now have the Tenacity talents to go along with it. While I would never lose my Panzer, this is probably the go-to pet to consider for soloing elites and dungeons. Especially considering the boost that it will bring you in the Roar for extra agility, and thus damage!
Ferocity Worm: Take worm's 'Burrow'. Add in Shark Attack and potentially Rabid on top of it. Also, as it can crit, Spider's Bite. Scared yet? Now take into account that its special ability, increased physical attack damage, is probably *the* most commonly-missed buff that I can think of. This is easily the most worrisome of the 'new go-to pets' that I see!
Ferocity Shale Spider: With how valuable its ability is, for a group that doesn't have a druid or a paladin (not common, but possible), this would be a fairly valuable companion to have as a top instance pet. And no more worries about how it can't keep up with the basic physical damage of your average Ferocity! This one I don't see as being terrifyingly overpowered as 'extremely useful', fortunately, but it'll definitely be a common go-to.
"But Kura! All the above have been for Beast Masters!"
Why yes. Yes, they have. But don't worry. There are a few non-Beast-Master ones that I see being definite concerns! ... well, insomuch as you can consider it a 'concern':
Cunning/Ferocity Gorilla: Now, the fastest interrupter in the game can do the most damage. Imagine coming across that in PVP! I'm personally a fan of slowing your opponent in PVP, though. So this wouldn't be as much a concern. Except...
Cunning/Ferocity Crocolisk: ... now your croc, who keeps the enemy slowed down with almost no cooldown, can *also* be a pet that does full damage to the enemy.
Any other combinations that people can think of? Or want to counter these thoughts?
