What is RP, how do I do it?
-It's best to just show up, watch others, and jump in. You are assuming the role of your character, as if they were an actual personality.
How will our RP need "guidelines?"
-I want to set up an OOC (Out Of Character) system. We will use (( )) at the beginning and end of the OOC comment.
Example:
Lok'tar Ogar brother, how fare you? (( Bah afk a sec. >< ))
-I want to keep the RP of the guild to be PG-13 at worst. Try to not use extreme swearing, unless it's part of your character (if you really have to drop the f bomb, please use a variation, such as fsk).
-With it being PG-13 I'd rather not have people making our, or engaging in sexual acts. Flirting, lick, slapping playfully, that's all good. Just keep it at a level you'd see on family television.
-Be reasonable. I don't want anyone claiming to be a relation to any major lore characters. It's just a personal view, that people who do that are just showing they can't come up with something creative of their own. No idea what to do? Hell, make it up on the fly. Works wonders for me.
What is the backstory of our RP meeting?
-I'll have an IC (In Character) explanation of that down below. It will ask you to give your character a certain viewpoint, but I think it'll be ok.
My idea for my character conflicts with one of these rules!
-Talk to me about it, I'll try as hard as possible to work it out. But for the most part these are really very general rules, and it shouldn't be a large issue.
Ryno, this sounds extremely stupid. I don't want to participate. I thought you did fun things.
-Give it a try. If you're not sure you'll do well, I want you to come anyway. Even if you just sit back and watch, and don't even RP, that's great. I just want us to give it a go, wholeheartedly.
There! I think that about does it. If I think of anything else I'll add it here. Now, I'm going to put in an IC background for our RP event below. Hope it's adequate.
Edit:
))Sarayana wrote:(( Edit: you might want to add the golden rule of RPing - that you never RP the other characters' feelings/responses...
"/em laughed in a way that made Rynoh nervous" is not ok
"/em laughter was eerie and strange" would work and allow the other player to imagine his/her own character's response. ))
As you walk along the roads of Orgrimmar, you can't help but shake the feeling that you're being followed. After attempting to spot who is trailing you, you notice an orc dressed in green themed armor. Not sure what to think, you decide to wander off and see what his next move is. Walking briskly through The Drag, you observe he is keeping his distance. Turning around, trying to look like you didn't notice him, you feel something bop the back of your head. Quickly turning around, you see the orc is gone, and at your feet is a wadded up piece of paper.
You unwrinkled the paper, seeing what it is. It reads:
HUNTERS
And Those Who Care About Beasts
This isn't some druid idea. I'm a tracker, a hunter, with a deep empathy for the wild. I'm looking for like minded members of the horde to share my ideas and to talk with. If you think this might be your type of axe, meet at the fire at Grom'Gol Basecamp in Stranglethorn Vale.
Promptly after reading the note, something snatches it from your hands, and seems to vanish into thin air. You search around, no trace left of any kind of what just happened.
