Rivendare's Deathcharger

Rivendare's Deathcharger is the one mount, after my Cenarion War Hippogryph,that I really, truly wanted, and for that reason, I thought I'd never get it. Some people will point out that it looks highly similar to a Forsaken Warhorse, but that is precisely why I wanted it. I love those mounts, and this one was my dream ground mount, because it meant my Night Elf hunter could have an undead horse. I was realistic however, and I decided to tell myself that I was working up to one hundred runs minimum. I was having a bit of luck in-game this week, and thought, what the hey, and ran the instance. My thoughts going in were "one run more towards getting it", I wasn't expecting anything. When I looted the Baron, I was wondering vaguely what he would drop this time. Honestly, I couldn't believe it. Even when I got outside and mounted it, I couldn't believe it. It just felt unreal.



Not sure how I ended up in Darnassus, or why. I was just so excited. Here's one with my lucky charm Aslan, who ran that instance with me.



Personally, I found that telling yourself you are going to get him "this time" just makes each run more disappointing than it needs to be. I set myself a few different goals; how fast I could run it, running the instance with every pet in my stable. It meant that some of my lesser used pets got to stretch their legs, so I enjoyed them.

Ok...that ended up being longer than I thought, sorry. I'm just really excited! The best part is, my other characters will get it too. Don't care about rarity, never did, I just can't stop admiring it. I did the same with my Hippogryph, and it's not rare at all. These mounts just mean a lot to me. When it's a mount you really want, never give up!

You know, I thought that if I ever tamed Sambas, I'd just let him go after a while. Then I ended up loving him. I think Aslan has earned himself a permanent slot in my stable now.

Personally, I found that telling yourself you are going to get him "this time" just makes each run more disappointing than it needs to be.

That was so inspiring! D: Now I really want to go do some dungeon runs for a mount with some idea in mind like yours. Maybe take a different pet each time, depending on what dungeon it is, of course.

But congrats on the mount! I like it myself and, yeah, it does look a lot like the Forsaken Warhorse. But it's a slightly different shade that I think I prefer. (:

Yeah, Leo did that to me too. I was all "OKAY, I will tame you already, but you're not staying!" And yet every time I went for the abandon button, he went "rawr?" with those big eyes of his.....sigh.

Thank you. The Deathcharger has a faint purple haze around it, and blue-ish flames around the feet that leave a brief trail, which are the main differences between it and the Forsaken Warhorse. It's just noticeable in the screenshots, but would have been more visible if I had taken them anywhere but Darnassus.

Just saw a Forsaken Warhorse in-game, and it also has this. Both absolutely beautiful mounts.

I use to farm that place back in WotLK, but then I got tired of it. I have yet to farm him in Cataclysm. Deathcharger is definitely on my list, though. If I can ever get Aeonaxx spawn, I think I'll set about a week or so aside to purely farm for it.

I saw the deathcharger drop on my blood elf alt... different faction... different account... in a LFD group... XD Didn't win it but isn't RNG wonderful sometimes? :p
