I hovered near the waterfall and just stayed there with NPCScan going and WoW running in the background while I did other things. TLPD is CRAZY RARE but I did end up getting him! I think I would have driven myself mad if I'd been actively flying in circles.

If you're camping both, sit at the northwest Skoll spawn and hope you get lucky. Worked for me once. :)

I did a 5 hour camp for Skoll on Friday (and got him) while working from home, and basically had to route the 4/5 spawn points continuously that entire time.

The thing with NPCScan is that sometimes it'll go off from halfway across a continent (Putridous has flared up whilst I've been in both Borean Tundra and Storm Peaks), but Loquenahak didn't trigger the alert until I was virtually on top of him.

Just keep running the route, and keep your eyes peeled just in case, and make sure your NPCScan cache is clear too! :)

That's only because his hit box is so large, you can target him from Dalaran. Same goes with any Whale Shark (you can target them from Stormwind) and the rare Mobus (who you can also target from SW)

Most rare pets you'll need to be relatively close.

If you're already dying after an hour, prepare for a long struggle. TLPD can take days to spawn and likely you'll see Vyragosa 10-15 times before catching a TLPD. I would advise leave your computer on with volume, and go do something else. Much easier on the brain

FTFY.

I jumped so high when NPCscan went off for him on the boat to Northrend....

Two words: Bor's Breath.

You'll want to check TLPD's actual spawn point there often to make sure nobody's sitting on it, but that's the surest way to catch Bor's, Ulduar, or Waterfall spawn if nobody's paying attention. And, there's a Skoll spawn there!

...I may have known about the latter and not the former when I was camping Skoll, thus leading to my Great Huntard Moment.
