I'm still crossing my fingers over those though.
Wouldn't it be cooler though if one day we've got a "Phoenix" exotic family that's a like a bird of prey (disarm) with a battle rezz? IIRC we don't have any exotic bird families, and I feel it's worth waiting for. I imagine we could even get a third model one day, fire phoenixes (Al'ar, the Hyjal rare), air/thunder phoenixes (those birds) and water/ice phoenixes (a potentially cool future model).
Just saying if this ever happens, they might hafta change one of those two abilities as Exotic pets have thus far never shared the effects of their exotic ability with any other family.
How bout a Dispell or Decurse type thing? 'Tears of the Pheonix'?

That was my point though, giving hunters who want battle rezz an option - quilen or phoenix.
I think Phoenixes should be tameable. We already have Heart of the Phoenix. lol But I don't think it should.. share an Exotic ability with a different Exotic.
Robot Wars is renewed for 6 episodes! I love some Exotic pets! And I hate spiders for.. "pets"!

I think we should just be able to tame every animal I don't think Papa Blizzard will ever give us that though.
Does anyone else think the Pterrodaxes would fit well into the Bat family?
Give some variety to an otherwise forgotten pet species for most people (I honestly only remember when I come to petopia <_<), and give hunters something else that's new and shiny.
Maybe rename the Bat family to something to encompass them both? (Not sure what though, Lol)
And although the species are completely unrelated, there is evidence in fossils that shows that some breeds of Pteranodons actually walked/flew like modern day vampire bats.
I think bats should remain bats, even if pterrodaxes/pterrorwings are given a family that's functionally identical. It's the same issue as with kunchongs and silithids; or wolves and foxes - completely different animals that share animations but shouldn't be considered one family.

That's probably why new bat models (which will come, sooner or later) will use the proto-drake/firehawk/pterrorwing animation skeleton.

Not to me personally, mainly because they are also very terrestrial? Also probably because I can't see these things ever being tameable. Ever. Even though they look really nice, they remind me too much of protodrakes and we never got those either. :c
