Work orders on your new farm

Unread post by Sukurachi »

I came across an odd occurrence today.
I had a work order for Mogu Pumpkin.

I plant 8 seeds, and get the quest completion for the first part "Plant Mogu Pumpkins".

One of the seeds, however, was an instant harvest... so I actually got quest credit for my first five pumpkins the first day. Great.

Now, day two, I come to harvest the balance... and... that first day's harvest doesn't count toward quest completion "Harvest Ripe Mogu Pumpkins".

So now I'm stuck having to plant again, seed and let it grow until tomorrow?

That seems like a bug, to not take into consideration that sometimes seeds will instantly mature. At least, a serious oversight on the part of the game designers.

Yes if you get a Bursting crop, you'll need to either wait and harvest it the next day, or replant the same crop.

Unfortunately, whenever a quest wants you to harvest Ripe X, it means Ripe X, not Bursting X. So instant growths don't count towards those quests (including the Tillers storyline quests from 5.0).

it's very annoying, because you actually get quest credit for having the item in your inventory (ie: 5 out of 40 pumpkins).

it is misleading, you see the little yellow text saying you now have 5 of the items, you assume that you're ok.

they really should change that.

I had a bursting crop, but left it in the ground until the next day and got credit just fine.

Same here, I left it and got it the next day with the others.

it would seem that the Striped Melons for August Celestials work orders DO count the Bursting Pumpkin harvests.

there's obviously some overlooked bit of code somewhere. a minor bug.

I've only completed the orders for Dominance Offensive so far and can safely say that bursting crops do count towards that just fine, too.
The issue I, and a few others I've heard, have is that doing the same order the next day will not offer the second half of the quest once all the seeds are planted. I can hand in the first part fine but the second quest doesn't appear. Anyone else get this?

Rest in peace mum. I really did love and miss you, even if I never got to see you.

Yes, but no worries. The next day when the crops are ready to harvest, you will automatically get the second quest when you are at the work order board.

Edit: Today I didn't actually get the second quest until I was harvesting the crop itself.
Edit 2: Now they are having you pick up part II from the cart!
