Warlock Green Fire Quest

So along with playing 2 level 90 hunters I also play a level 90 warlock. Earlier this morning I was able to drop the tome to start the green fire quest, yay, or so I thought... The first few parts are heavy in the lore department and I play a game of Hot and Cold with finding soul stones, once I found all of them I go to The Black Temple. It has been a few years since BT was cleared out and given back to Akama and his people, but they still don't like warlocks, luckily after I sneak by a few, I get sapped by Akama. He remembers me and all the work I did helping him, cool right? WRONG!!! He shows me where to go, and tells me to look out for traps... damn traps! He tells me to use a spell to see and move around the room, that's dumb! if I hit a trap it summons a ghost to kill me... if my demon hits a trap it summons a ghost to kill me... took me about 6 tries to get it right... Then there's the first boss that others call a MINI BOSS (mini my rear end!) This "Mini Boss" has 12.6 Million HP lights parts of the floor on fire, has a massive AoE spell (that's supposed to be stunned to stop it, but does enough damage to wipe all my HP) and summons wisps to attack you... its a major pain! I have not passed this boss yet, but reading about the second boss he's got 31 Million HP and can one shot you with a Chaos Bolt or a one minute Curse of Doom spell... and all of this is supposed to be solo'ed, sadly my ilvl is only 455 due to the lack of me playing my hunters more than anything... I have only seen one warlock so far with green fire, and other sites I read only describe this as being the hardest solo ever! So until next expac I don't think I am finishing this quest...

I haven't done this yet, but my partner was lucky enough to succeed in winning that final boss. He didn't seem to encounter any real difficulties until that boss, on which he wiped some 60 times before finally managing a perfect execution of his tactics. Most sites seem to suggest Destruction as the best way to do it due to the self-heal, but he did it as Affliction as he is most comfortable with that spec. His ilvl was 499 at the time and he is a skilled warlock, but he said that it was a very steep learning curve. His ilvl and his DPS didn't help him much, as this fight is not about burning the boss down, it is is about getting everything just right and controlling a demon to perfection. It's about using all your tricks as a warlock, and timing your strategies correctly. You will wipe, most likely a lot. But after a while you will get into the groove and learn what works for you. Good luck, the green fire is very cool and I hope to get the tome on my warlock in time as well.
