An unexpected companion.

Unread post by Nefretiti »

So I started doing isle of thunder dailies awhile back.
I liked the new blue turtleskin so I tamed one on a whim to putz around with for awhile .. but .. she's here to stay ...

Meet Mut

Image

Mind you .. I never managed to click with turtles before .. not even Terrorpene .. now I have two.

Geb and Mut.

Geb is bloodtooth.

Geb was the Egyptian god of the Earth and a member of the Ennead of Heliopolis. It was believed in ancient Egypt that Geb's laughter were earthquakes and that he allowed crops to grow.

as silly as the name Mut may sound she actually exists in ancient egyptian mythology.

Mut was a title of the primordial waters of the cosmos, Naunet, in the Ogdoad cosmogony during what is called the Old Kingdom, the third through sixth dynasties, dated between 2,686 to 2,134 B.C. However, the distinction between motherhood and cosmic water later diversified and lead to the separation of these identities, and Mut gained aspects of a creator goddess, since she was the mother from which the cosmos emerged.

the above info taken from Wikipedia.

Wahhhh, just so lovely! Image I just simply adore this turtle and it colouration (though if we could get a tortos model.... lord have mercy!), it's the turtle soul mate of my hunter atm and is a permanent companion in my line up of 5. He has tanked/saved so many situations and just love him so much :D

(In fact he tanked most the trash after the 1st boss/2nd part of LRF when both tanks left after tortos died. The healers kept him up and all the other hunters MD'ed to him as did I. I was actually beaming with pride, he kept pretty much everything on him, only a few deaths (others pulling extras and thinking they could tank also) as we cleared out 2/3rds of it b4 we had another tank show up.)

I also love names that have a meaning behind them too, and as odd as Mut may seem to start with, the meaning is perfect!

My boy's name is Kyanos with reference to Kyanite whose name derives from the Greek word kuanos sometimes referred to as "Kyanos" meaning deep blue, is a typically blue silicate mineral, commonly found in aluminium-rich metamorphic pegmatites and/or sedimentary rock.

My hunter has one of the purple beetles from Uldum, named Khepri, after the beetle-headed god.

Spiritbinder,

The picture of the Kyanite is just perfect. I have three turtles in my stable. Terrorpene, Bloodtooth, and one of these. I love the MoP turtles, and I was thrilled to track down Bloodtooth. But when I saw the addition of these blues, I went over the moon. Blue's my favorite color, and these guys are just gorgeous. Like you, this is the turtle that I have in my 'ready five'.

I didn't go with my usual naming theme when it came to Bloodtooth and this guy. I have a nephew who worships the ninja turtles. When I showed him Bloodtooth, he said "IT's like Raph", so I named him Raphael, for my nephew. So, it seemed fitting when I tamed the blue that I should call him Leonardo.
