To Wind Serpent or Not to Wind Serpent.
Hi all! I am back with my first big question-
Do I get a Wind Serpent? I have my eyes set on Quetzl, who is a purely unique skin! However, my issue with this fine serpent is that he has no exotic ability and his WSerpent family ability is pretty useless to a Hunter, except for when you need to spam arcane shot. Much of my dps comes from SSting and Glaives and using Blink Strike and Kill Command for better mobility. However, I'm sure the large concentration of mages and warlocks would squeee for Quetzl's buffs. So, my question is, should I get this Wind Serpent? And Why?

You also need to remember a pet's ability isn't just for the hunter. It's also for other classes. Wind Serpents/Dragonhawks are essential to any stable if you want to buff your raid/dungeon, which is what hunters are there for as a support type class. Especially with the 55 stable slots coming up in 5.3.
I'd say go ahead and tame one. :3

And further, also remember that there are plenty of pets with abilities that many consider almost useless, and are still well loved! The ability isn't everything, if you really like Quetz, then nobody will hurt you for taming him. Luckily, the Wind Serpent skill is very useful in groups and often in demand, so it's a very useful pet.

On top of being an extremely useful boost to caster heavy groups, wind serpents are quite pretty/stunning pets and they're special ability is one of the top ones to have on hand for SV hunters.
Not to mention, come patch 5.3, we'll have like 55 total stable slots which is more than enough space for one of each species.

Alright guys, thanks for the replies. I was definitely leaning towards getting him, and now I'm for sure gonna do it. I know he'll be a caster favorite in LFR
Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

I was gonna say; windserpents (and dragonhawks) are great for SV because of the percentage of your dps from magic-type attacks. But yes, as people have said, no one is going to jump on you anymore for having a pet with an unused buff... hell, if you get into a raid, there's a 100% possibility that every buff you can bring will already be covered so hell, bring that owl or that basilisk, just be sure to set it to Ferocity first!
(My main on MG uses Quetzl a lot; I love him, he's so pretty.)

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket
