Tenacity Help!
So I've never really used a Tenacity pet on any of my hunters. Taigi had a boar once, but it was so low level that it hardly mattered, as no major tenacity talents had come into play yet.
Well, Silinrul went and tamed a ghostly Jormungar the other day. He's fully leveled, and I've managed to use him to tank some of the big baddies running around Nagrand doing the 'Nagrand Slam' achivement, but I still pull aggro off him way too much. I'm not sure if this is because so far I've only really used him against "lowbies" (Ring of Blood, plus Durm the Hungerer specifically) or if it's because I dunno what I'm doing with a Tenacity pet yet.
My guess is while the former might have some sway, it's likely the latter.
SO! Hunters, especially hunters who favor Tenacity pets, give me tips and tricks for utilizing this pet type effectively! Especially in a solo-ing setting, as I doubt I'll pull him out for instances much.

First; Imp Growl + Thunderstomp. Then all the tanking talents, outside of taunt as tbh it's not worth it. A 3 min cd may work once or twice but the real aggro problems is you're DPSing to fast. Your pet is like a just geared for the instance/job Paladin/Bear/DK/War. IE they can tank it, but they need you to let them garner threat.
You can help this by MDing onto them every chance you get too. Aspect of the Beast or Viper can help as tbh DPS shouldn't be a problem, just keeping your pet up should be your first concern, keeping aggro on him, the second.
There's also the fact that as lovely as worms are, they aren't good with multiple mobs. Not for additional threat. If you're still having trouble, I suggest dropping your worm for a temp bear/crocolisk, which should give you what you need.

Re: Tenacity Help!
Well first of all you want to set up a nice, solid pet spec. Something like this could work - I just plopped the points in so there might be a few points that could be better spent.
I created a couple of macros for Intervene and Roar of Sacrifice. A focus macro might work, or a mouse-over target macro. I can't recall how I wrote mine since it's been so long since I used my tenacity pet, but I'll gladly check later.
I'd make a macro for Last Stand too. I think /cast Last Stand should work. Point is, you want to control it. Also, if you don't already have it, I'd recommend getting an addon that lets you track your current buffs and cooldowns, so you can track the duration of Mend Pet and cooldown on those three abilities.
Edit: I agree with Ryai, the best pets for holding aggro on packs of mobs are bears and crocs, because of their aoe family special.
Edit 2: I played around with the pet spec a bit more, and I'm fairly certain I'd go with this. Charge is great for front-end threat, you have tons of stam and the self-heal (though small) from growl, and you get the three skills from the 5th tier.

Re: Tenacity Help!
I use my Warp Stalker for everything that isn't heroics/raiding. =P As MM, Xena find it quite hard to keep aggro against my DPS, but in BM, with the extra talent points and my lowered DPS, she seems to cope well, especially in old raids like Zul'Gurub and Molten Core (which I run frequently with my boyfriend's Priest).
The Warp ability allows her to get to the enemies before I start firing, giving her a little bit of time to get aggro. I ALWAYS Misdirect as soon as it's up, I have two misdirect macros, one for my pet, and one for my Focus (the latter I use in raids).
Pet Misdirection:
/target pet
/cast Misdirection
/targetlasttarget
So you can go back to what you were targetting. =)
This is my MM spec, and this is my BM spec.
I'm not one for macros really, and only use them when they're necessary. I for one have Last Stand on Xena's pet bar, and because she doesn't cast it on her own, I can just click it when I see she's running low on health. The trick is to just keep your pet alive!
I hope this helps =)
