Attacking without Dismounting

So I came across something very, very weird as I was waiting for some Guardlings to spawn. A few Horde members (I'm on a PvP server) were managing to attack me in the air without being dismounted. First it was a troll druid, then a blood elf paladin, then an orc death knight. The druid was in flight form, the paladina had a firebird mount, and the orc had the new bat mount.

All three of them looked like they had sparklepony effects on, minus the stars. Not a single one of them dismounted, and I watched them throw spells at me as I flew in the most ridiculous patterns I could to try and throw them off.

Do any of you know what was going on? I've never seen anything like that. Ever.

Never hear of anything like that, or seen any item/buff that would allow such a thing.

Could be a bug, as I've seen it before myself. I believe it's a display glitch. We see them on a mount, but to them they are just normal.

But then what about the fact that they were attacking me without dismounting? I was never within range of the ground and constantly moving; even if the mounts are a display glitch, how did they manage that?

Not sure, but I know what you mean. I've seen hunters shooting while still on the mount. They didn't seem to be moving the same speed of a mount, so I'm not sure. Make a ticket, and see if a GM knows ?

I can assure you I wasn't lagging. And, for the issue of them still appearing to be on a mount while only going running speed; they were right on my tail the entire time I was flying around and trying to get out of reach, so it wasn't that.
