Twilight Drake *_____* When I ran OS for the first time ever, it was an OS3D run and I paid the winner of the drake 11k for it since it was still one hell of a bloody pain to just get a raid together for it, let alone actually do it as I found during the few runs I managed to do after that one cause people were mostly uninterested in it, having already gotten theirs when it was current content (I think it was early Cata when I got mine... I'm not really sure anymore). I really, really,
really love this drake.
Ironbound Drake. I'm 3 acheivs away from getting it but think I could ever find people for it? Pffft yeah right. Been trying to get the achievs for it for years now. All anyone ever wants to do Ulduar for now is for mogs, they don't give a crap about people trying to get the mount so no one bothers to try for the achievs. They just want to burn the boss down to loot them D:
Blue Protodrake. Heeeelll yeeeeah! This lovely and the polar bear from Bruunhildar are my go to mounts for my 'Ice Troll' hunter. It took a while, but not to a grand extent. I got it probably within a month...? I got it back in Cata so it's been a while and I don't remember how long I farmed it.
TLPD. I'm just, I love him, but I don't think I can put up with camping him anymore. I camped him on and off, 16-18 hour days for a month or so here and there only to always, always, ALWAYS see Vyragosa. Always Vyragosa. There was actually a time when I literally developed a 6th sense and I fluttered around to various spawns with this gut feeling that
something was going to spawn there soon and I actually managed to see Vyra spawn ontop of me and kill her just as swiftly several times in a row. Since TLPD's release I've only seen him once. Once. It was back in January last year, he spawned at Waterfall and his massive range had my addon ping for him but I couldn't see him anywhere! I was at the lake and I flew forward, thinking he was coming in from the plains but didn't see him anywhere so I flew back, managed to finally get the addon to target him, and I saw that healthbar barely full, dropping rapidly with every second, and I only just made it within visual sight of him to see him fall to the ground dead. So, yeah. I love him but I'm still so bloody destroyed over that I just, I cannot camp him anymore. I tried many times, a lot of times, and I've just lost all heart for it.
Azure Drake. I can't solo Malygos for the life of me, I can't get past phase two with any slight success so this lovely beauty still remains out of my reach ;---;
Nether Draaaaaaaaaaakes! I did the rep grind 8 times for these beauties! My favorite ones are Onyx and Azure <3
Red Drake. I ground Wyrmrest Accord rep like a bawss for so long in dungeons in Wrath ermagerd.... I was exhausted but happy when I finally got it. And then I ended up deleting the character I had farmed it on by mistake and only realized it in MoP >____> So I did the easy thing and bought the rep thingy's till I reached exalted and bought it that way
Drake of the North Wind, Volcanic Stone Drake, Vitreous Stone Drakesssssssss! I have the Volcanic, farmed Stonecore so many damned times for Vitreous (saw it drop once when I was dungeoning but lost it) but have yet to get it to drop, and I've only done Vortex a handful of times soloing (but more than plenty of times dungeoning) for the North Wind guy but these are my favorites of the 'elemental' Cata drakes, mostly for their looks but they're magical with my Shamans (I have a special love for Deepholm so I kinda have at least
some of their backstory tied to that place though I did really like Uldum and the North Drake would be great for my Pandaren guy) xD
But the absolute, hands down, COMPLETELY ULTIMATE FAVORITE OF ALLLLLL.................
Vicious Gladiator's Twilight Drake.
The drake I will never in my life, ever be able to get because it was 1) Arena and I don't PvP let alone Arena (I did try once though, really. We didn't last a minute, literally. I just
cannot PvP for the life of me. I used to be great in Vanilla, I was a beast feral druid, but I did the 20-29 bracket. 30-39 was pretty touchy though. And I really just could not, whatsoever, could not function in brackets where we could mount like, AT ALLLLL, and because we can mount at lvl 20, guess who doesn't PvP anymore with any actual seriousness? Meeeeee! Specially with damned heirlooms being allowed in there. Even if I'm wearing them too, I suck so damned hard ugh ffffff.), and 2) It's retired and its definitely one of those mounts where when it's retired, there's not a prayer in the world that will bring it back. The backlash from bringing back old Arena champion mounts would be monumental.
I recognized the TLPD as one of ours before it was replaced. That site seems to have copied a lot of them from Warcraft Mounts rather than made their own.
Maybe one day! But i love to see them about!
