Scroll of Resurrection being removed in less than a week!

In case you haven't see this, the Scroll of Resurrection is being removed. After Feb 18 you'll no longer be able to use one on a lapsed account. See:

As a result, you'll probably no longer be able to get the Spectral Gryphon and Spectral Wind Rider mounts. Of course it's possible they'll be added to the Recruit-A-Friend rewards list, or added somewhere else, but so far they haven't announced anything.

It's going to be tight on time but there's a long running thread on the official battlenet forums that hooks up players with SoRs.

I can vouch for its effectiveness (got 2 players to come back) but keep in mind you can only send 1 SoR a day via the site and 1 in-game so you can't spam invites.

Do you think they are doing this so they can bring out a new updated one that can be used on people who stopped playing like last year or something?

The current guess seems to be that they won't bring SoR back any time soon, because they want people to buy boost-to-90s via WoD or in the future via the shop.

That said I think Wain is probably correct that they might see these mounts as another thing to add to RaF in the future.

Not impossible, but I'd say it was unlikely. The wording conveyed a feeling that it was permanent.

Does anyone have any accounts that have been lapsed for long enough that a scroll could be used (Mar 4 2012)? If so maybe they'd be kind enough to post here and hook up with someone who desperately wants the mounts. It would be worth indicating who is prepared to pay for the subscription since they have to renew their subscription and pay for 30 days of game time before you receive the reward.
