Worms and Recount

Unread post by Ryai »

So last night I was tinkering around with Ryai, figuring out what was wrong with her DPSing [forgot to update glyphs doh], and find that she can now steadily manage 3k dps for the most part.

On Yasindra just now, I first checked with Orthros, a nice and steady 3.2k dps.

Now, I wanted to see what it would be like with Sunscale- and with Yas well there had been a large burst, but it had quickly evened out. With Sunsale? Oh with Sunscale Yasindra had insane initial burst; 4.4k. And over, SLOWLY MIND YOU, the course of the fight this ticked down to around 3.1k dps.

So i guess if Recount didn't bug... worms are as decent in a fight as a Core Hound o-o

If you can get a pet warrior for 10 minutes or so, try this:

Get warrior to stack Sunder x5 on your dummy, and keel dummy with Core Hound.

Get warrior to stack Sunder x5 on your dummy, and keel dummy with Worm.

I'm betting it's just down to whether you have a rogue/warrior to give you the extra ArP boss debuff. I.e. it wouldn't do anywhere near the same dps in a proper raid, or even heroics bosses with a warrior tank.

I've not had war tanks commonly tho, been a string of deathknights and paladins, with a side of droods lately O.o

and yeah I'm betting it's the sunder effect from the worm spit, but still after trying it again and making sure my rotation went more smoothly with less hiccups, I averaged 3.5-3.8k dps with the worm, a good deal of 300 more dps than my core hound.

Edit: what I mean is with the sunder x5 I'm betting my hound would do that extra 300 dps.

I'd imagine the corehound would do quite a bit more than the worm if a warr was applying sunders, but there's only one way to find out! It wouldn't be as big a difference I think as a pet with a physical attack (to benefit from the ArP) but still.

And about the druid side dishes--I've been having the same O.o I think warrior tanks must be an endangered species now. Been using my carrion bird and pretending that with the shout effect (574 aoe AP reduction) the pet is actually useful
