Found some interesting aspect of this guy, I am not sure is my computer issue or is designed to be
I didn't see anyone reported it so just sharing and hope to verify
1) when it attack an NPC, the NPC will turn orange .
2)does not do any damage modification , it's just a color effect .

Applies fading tint effect when it hits with focus ability (Smack).
Before taming, the mob applies this colour effect to itself when it attacks. Only after it's tamed does it apply to its target.

Interesting. I always assumed it was a bestial wrath kind of effect, but I never checked.

Same tint effect is applied by my cat's Claw attack (tested with Sha-Infested Prowler and Sambas), but Bite on crocolisk (oozeling) and core hound (Kurken) don't apply the tint.
So seems to be a few pets focus-consuming attacks will apply it. Nothing special really, just that this mob happens to apply it to itself before taming.
