It is always hard to say goodbye

So, my old dog Chewy is not doing very well. He is around 10 years old, so I thought he would have a few more years to live. Sadly he has heartworms and that does not help is bad genes. The poor guy can barely stand up by himself and keeps making little whimpers. I was able to get him to eat some food and drink a bit of water so he is resting atm, but everyone says that he only has a little while left in his life. Chewy has been my companion since I was five and it is really hard seeing him like this since I don't remember ever not having him with me. I just hope that he is comfortable, found him a nice warm blanket and some treats. It may be his time to go, and if it is I will be sad, but I know that he has had a wonderful life with me and I love my Chewy boy like a best friend! I will have to find a few of my old pictures of him when he could run and go hiking with me in the woods. We used to have so much fun.

I just needed a place to write this down I only want Chewy to be happy, and I never want to forget him.

Aw, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. Like I've told my brother, the heartache we endure as we see our pets go is nothing compared to the utter joy and laughter they brought us in our lives. Their passing is fleeting, but their memories are forever. You and Chewy spent many long, happy years together and that will never go away. <3 Best wishes to you and your friend, and I hope that if his time has come, that he has ease of passing.
