Today Blizz announced some buffs to BM that will be in 8.1.5. More work needs to be done, but they're a start

As the comments on wowhead are raving on about, it's too little. This is like adding steel toe boots to the uniform for a desk worker. Sure, it's neat, but that's really not much to be amazed at. BM needs love, not a pat on the head and further disregard. Marksman plays as horribly as it ever has (aka boring as all hell), Survival is a complete meme at this point, and BM just doesn't do anything.
At least I have pets. That's one perk to being a Hunter in BfA, I guess.
