This patch is introducing the new talent changes at the very least. Stay tuned for more info.

I wonder where Nihilum is getting their build. The client isn't up on the Blizzard torrent thingy yet, so far as I can tell.

Note that I'm not saying anything bad about Nihilum -- I'm just curious.

I'm not sure, but to be honest I have a lot more faith in MMO-Champion then I do in Nihilum. I just figured it was worth noting that they do seem to have some information. We'll find out how accurate it is over the night.

MMO Champion has more info up now, including the skills that are automatically learned when you pick your main talent tree at level 10.
Hunter - Marksman
Aimed Shot
Marksmanship Hunter (+ ranged hit, pushback reduction)

Hunter - Survival
Explosive Shot
Survival Hunter (+ ranged hit, pushback reduction)

Hunter - Beast Mastery
Intimidation
Beastmastery Hunter (+ranged hit, pushback reduction)

If we're getting hit in PvP, we're doing it wrong. Also, we don't have anything with casttimes that's usable in melee, and no sane hunter stands around getting a beating while someone else punches you.

Actually...

In pvp, they way they are doing it, without the pushback reduction, you would be dead.

" * Beastmastery Hunter - Increases your chance to hit with ranged attacks by 3%. Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting Steady Shot, Cobra Shot, and Volley by 70%."

Since Steady and Cobra are your focus regeneration, all you would need is something in your face and you could never regen your focus, thus dead or useless hunter.

On occasion, there WILL be melee hitting you while you kill their healer.

Aye, but with fox you merely pop a frost trap, and shoot from a safe distance.

Slickrock, I REALLY hope you're not trying to say that standing around getting hit is beneficial for hunters.

There may be other mechanics changes going on around the talent tree bonuses. I'm interested to see what beta testers have to say once they get in.

Agreed. And Mania, I think MMO-Champion had the info, but wasn't putting it out until ready. Nihilum has just kind of been trickling it out as it came to them.

No, but sometimes it can't be helped... melee isn't the only thing that causes pushback. If you run everytime you might get hit, I'd enjoy kiting you around...

Of course not, but if you're a hunter you shouldn't stand around casting Steady. Hunter PvP isn't built that way. Even if you're nuking a healer, you. Should. Not. Let. Melee. Kill. You.

You don't sit still for melee, UNLESS you are right on the verge of offing some one. You DO sit still for casters and other hunters. You do NOT let casters get into melee range, which can lead to an inversion of rule number two, but usually disengage will get you the distance you need to not have to worry about it.
