Keep or lose your starter pets?
So question with the pet you start with as a lv 1 hunter. As I hear, you have a pet but you realy cant control it, and its kinda a loan pet. Once you hit 10 can you keep the pet?

Yes. ^^
Q: What happens at level 10?
At level 10 you can learn a new skill, Control Pet. This skill basically gives you a pet control bar -- which means that you can start giving your pet real commands like Stay or Attack, and controlling its skill use. You also get access to the pet's Spellbook at this point.
More importantly, though, using Control Pet on your starter pet turns it into a "real" pet that you can rename.
In addition, you still learn Tame Beast at level 10 -- so you can go off and tame a new pet if you prefer -- and you also learn Dismiss Pet, Feed Pet, and (conveniently) Beast Lore.
Level 10 is also when pets begin to require food to stay happy.

That's cool. I'm sure after 10 levels most people will become attached to their pets.

At lv 10 the starters pet get a action bar.
I thought you have to do a quest for it or buy it from trainer but i'm not sure.

Re: Keep or lose your starter pets?
Nope. You just buy it. I went off, put Barky the Mastiff in the stables, and went off to tame Fel my Plague Wolf, who's been with me since. Though, I'd like some variety in my stables...I have Barky the Mastiff, Fel, and Trickery the Lupos.

At least you can hold onto the pet. I'd probably feel a little bad if my trainee-pet had to get ditched 'cause I didn't have the stable space...but with 25 slots that shouldn't be a problem anymore, even if you want to go out and tame a different skin of the same family pet.

Well, I ditched my starter pet on my Hunter...Wolves, don't like em, so I tamed Vultros when I saw him, then a nice black fox!! Kept the crab on my Goblin hunter...I love crabs!! Also tamed a wasp on her too :3

I kinda hope for the existing huntersb out there that theyd fill one of out new stable slots with the new starter pet, so we have a choice to keep or release it.
