US Petopians - Interest in Raiding

Unread post by Ryno »

Obviously, several members of the guild enjoy raiding, while others do not. I'd like to get a poll up just so that I can see how many enjoy raiding and if they do, what they like to raid.

Would members like me to organize raids (type of raid will be based on the info I get from the poll)?

I have done instances before but have never been in a raid. I would love to try raiding. Casual raiding, can commit some time to it, but not everyday.

I have been on one raid with my alliance main, and that's it. Big bugger, 25 person. As soon as I get Skarm up to level, I would love to go raiding. I have half an inkling though that we'll be making up things as we go along. Petopians, while great as hunters and such, don't strike me as the types who have done much raiding. All in all, I would love to do this with the guild. It will be a good learning experience.

If I were in the US guild, I would love to help you organize some raids. Sadly, I'm not.

I've gotten a few raids going with some people from the EU guild, however, like when we did Naxx (with some pugged people :D). (I thought that was moderately successful, anyway...) It should certainly be possible for you guys to get a raid going. Baseline setup for NR 10-man stuff would be 2 tanks, 2 healers and 6 DPS. If you intend to go Vanilla or BC raids, you'll need a different setup, but I also applaud you. Those raids are MUCH more fun than anything in WOTLK.

EDIT: It is no longer a fiteen man raid. ;)

I'd definitely be up for it, though in Cata I'll technically be joining a raiding guild, but still. ^.^

6DPS... My mind is everywhere ATM. xD

That's a great composition for a fifteen man raid tough! Except maybe more healers... :D

I'd be up for it. I've never done raiding before, and it's something I would very much like to try.

Though I will need to find a LOT of information/addons/whatever... I'm what you could call a Hardcore Casual. >_> It doesn't help that I get extremely nervous whenever I have to go dungeon-delving. But hey, I would be in a great group of understandable people, so any idiotic mistakes I might make probably won't get me kicked out of the raid as easily. :T

i think it would be fun to do just real casual raiding. i was into the hard core stuff in vanilla. bs and in wotlk up to uld. it was fun but meh. I think it would be fun if we did raids from vanilla bc and wotlk. I dont see petopians turning into a raiding guild so i see no harm in trying to set up raids weather they are for old school raids from vanilla or a tad more serious ones in wotlk.

all in all im up for any raids

I did a raid once. Can't say as though I'll be any good at it but I'm a willing learner and think it could be fun as a casual thing. :D

I really like the idea of doing Vanilla/BC raids. There's quite a few I don't have the achievement for and would love to get, plus it would be for fun more than anything.

I voted that I'll try anything, as long as people are patient and willing to explain what to do. Well, when Taigi hits 80, anyway. I have a feeling that casually raiding with a whole bunch of friends wouldn't be nearly as bad, since it'd be a CASUAL endeavor, and not a desperate race to be the first or get insane difficult achievements.

Some of the Vanilla/BC content would be lovely, I think. And it'd be kinda cool to do the 'champion of the frozen waste' achievements too. Sarth, Malgyos, and Kel'thuzad, that is....I know I'd love to get the achieve on Sil, but I'm terrified of pugging any of them XD It'd be cool to get that title on Taigi...

You should do a raid with all hunters. Perhaps see what bosses you would be able to down!

I've never tried raiding before either (only because I haven't been high enough), but I've seen in videos how bosses work in some of those raids. Whatever I can get myself into, I'll do it, for the experience and for the fun of raiding.

Fio is at a level where she could try to do the old raids as a 60, well, 62. I have seen bosses in some of these raids in Youtube videos. Got some info from Fworbin how impossible it was to beat the two bosses in Ahn'Qiraj back then and even now it's still very difficult.

I've been in a couple pug raids getting together to clear old content such as AQ, and it shocks me how many people run in all full of themselves because they're 80 and get pwned. Just because it's low level raiding doesn't mean you can just slack off and walk through expecting your grandiose aura to one shot everything. x)

Mmk. We do have quite a few people interested in this.

I also want to note, we will not be changing into a raiding guild, these raids would be merely an extra guild event.

As for leading them, I feel comfortable leading by myself, for those who where offering to help.

Now we just need to decide on a time for it. Should I just simply replace a Friday event with a raid? Should we have a special day during the week? Should we do it whenever we have enough people online to do it?

I think for now we'll keep the raiding down to old content that's not too challenging, so we can get those unfamiliar with it a little experience before we tacking bigger things.
