Re: Cata Release
No, they ship it on release day. You get it 3-5 days later, depending on shipping.Bulletdance wrote:If you get it through amazon do you get it the day you can in stores?

Re: Cata Release
Actually, if you order in time, they will pre-ship so you will likely get it on release day.Sarayana wrote:No, they ship it on release day. You get it 3-5 days later, depending on shipping.Bulletdance wrote:If you get it through amazon do you get it the day you can in stores?

Re: Cata Release
I won't believe till Blizzard releases it, but that's in time for the Thanksgiving holiday which worries some people who want it on the day of release. =P

Re: Cata Release
We actually ended up canceling our order for Wotlk CE from them because of that. We had it in hand on release day by going to Best Buy near us (in the suburbs) rather than 5 days (perhaps) later. Everywhere I looked, that seemed par for the course, Amazon shipped on release day to have it to you 4-5 days after. This is obviously not to say that others didn't get it on release day, I just haven't heard any stories to the contrary.Slickrock wrote:Actually, if you order in time, they will pre-ship so you will likely get it on release day.Sarayana wrote:No, they ship it on release day. Re: Cata Release
Part of me is just saying /ignore for pure fact someone didn't bother to read the reply I posted to their first Post.
Moral of the story ? Unless Blizzard says something or Boubouille then just flat out ignore it.
So should I post this into every single thread anyone posts on anything to do with Cata before we actually purchase and install the Live version? Or do we have the right to discuss ideas? I do remember seeing a very well worded and thought out post made on hunter Specs? (which has actually been posted on both EU and US Wow Forums?
PS I understand your point... Just happily disagree

Re: Cata Release
I worked at GameStop for a good number of years and what tends to happen when a game is announced (not the date, just the game) is the company has to give the title a "release date" in order to input it into the the system (this is a input requirement). Blizzard has a tendency to plan their game release for mid November, this is what they set as their "soft date" or the date in which they would like to be close to finishing. Think of it as setting a mental "due date" on a project a week before it's really due (because lord knows you'll put it off until right before). Blizz will not put out the title until it's done, but they make sure they set a time to be done and try not to be more than three months off (please see every expansion so far). Companies know this and tend to set the "input date" as the "soft date".
Hope this helped.

Many thanks to Vephriel for the amazing sig!
