Web Comics

Unread post by Skyshot »

So just curious if anyone else out there reads web comics. They don't have to be WoW related. Neither to they have to be strictly funny or serious.
I'm just curious what others read as I hunt for new comics to read for myself. :) So.. list some comics?

I'm currently following along with:
http://www.lackadaisycats.com/index.php
http://www.vgcats.com/
http://www.brokenplotdevice.com/
http://alienlovespredator.com/
http://www.crispygamer.com/comics/ding/

Note: Wasn't sure if this would be better suited for Fan Art & Creative Writing or Off-Topic since I'm not asking strictly about WoW related comics. :O

I'd recommend Looking For Group
Yeah the name sounds wowish but it's not a WoW comic!

One of my newest favourite WoW comics is

Equinox: Defender of the Horde

Somehow I hadn't heard of it until it started back up recently, so I went back and read it from the beginning. Wow, I was just amazed at how in depth that story gets and how touching it is at some parts. Seriously, I had tears in my eyes during some of the later chapters. It's fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone. :)

I don't have the time (between RL and playing Wow...) to read alot of webcomics at the moment, but back in the day, one of my favourites was A Modest Destiny. The fourth installment is currently on hiatus, but the first three are awesome all on their own. ^-^

I read Penny Arcade primarily for the game news because I find their comics hit or miss.

I adore Sinfest and xkcd.

My husband made me start reading Dinosaur Comics recently.

Ooh, xkcd is a favourite of mine as well. It's just so unique and I love how the tone of the comic varies from funny to insightful.

I'm not too big on xkcd, I find it too pretentious, and as an artist... I find all the ragging on Liberal Arts majors and artists in general unfunny. But there's a couple strips that amuse me, like the TVTropes one.

My favorite webcomic at the moment, by far, is Hark! A Vagrant. Historical humor for the win! Coming in second is The Perry Bible Fellowship.

I love The Phoenix Requiem...great if you like ghost stories or victorian-era fantasy. :) TPR is still ongoing, though her other fantasy-based comic, Inverloch, is really good too (and finished!)

Both are great for a nice sit-down story if you want to kill an hour or three :D

They all look like really fun so far. Going to have a lot of new stuff to read through it looks like. :D
Also forgot to add one to my original list. A comic that I love to bits and used to follow almost religiously.. but it appears to be abandoned now. :[
At least the archive is still up and running. It just hasn't been updated in forever.. and most likely won't be any time soon (if ever) from the looks of things.

Almost all of my favorite comics have been mentioned so far except for...

Gastro~Phobia: Has adorable art, lovable characters and great stories.
For something WoW related, WoW, Eh? is another good one. The artist also does the Byron comics for WoW.com.
Gunnerkrig Court is probably my favorite. Gorgeous art, wonderful characters, and an amazing story.

Concerned: http://www.hlcomic.com/

It's a Half Life 2 comic, following the adventures of the stupid Gordon Frohman. It's very funny if you've played the game, and understand the references.
