Cataclysm: Fall of a King

Unread post by Ryai »

Decided to post one of my stories that I am still working on. I've only got a couple chapters sofar, still working on the next, on/off. I am unsure of if I should post it. I mean even with warnings I could get into trouble but :| Anyways it's PG-13 to R for content, from language to well possible sexual- but not really described, situations. More of the you know what probably happened but it happens behind closed doors sort of deal.

And if you don't like some characters being homosexual then no this isn't a story for you either :|

At anyrate this follows WoW lore as far as I have in my knowledge and when I remember to dredge WoWwiki or Ariamodasu for more information. The rest of it is basically artistic license. Meaning it most likely will come off as a crack fic to those hard core to lore and the game.

There is some satire to events and quests, and about other things. But this is also a serious story too.

Note: this will not follow exactly how the end game played out for us/raiders/players/etc. This is basically my chance to fool around and write crack pairings.

I mean.

Work on my writing. So without further ado- oh and if anyone is to worried about how mature my story gets, can always do what I did on another site. A mod could request me to pm them the chapter for approval or tell me what I should edit or change. I have no problem at all with doing that.

Edit: Since I evidently write way to much. This first post shall have nothing but the banner and a table of contents, as I don't want to cut the prologue up.

So;

Prologue
Birth of a Druid

In the great tree, Teldrassil, a new Night Elf was born, named Kiridori. Like all night elves, she was born a full adult. No one knows why this happens, no one questions it. Not even Kiridori herself- for the most part. They accept it and move on.

Kiridori gazed upon her world, full of lush green plants along with brightly colored yellow boars, that seemed docile enough. And strangely darkly colored saber toothed cats, that also seemed to have no interest in attacking her or any of the other night elves she saw running around. Like her they had been freshly born this morning, and like her they already seemed to know what they wanted to become; she saw a handful of hunter's, who seemed incapable of speech, or atleast when they talked they spoke in a language that was clearly not common nor Darnassian, strangely enough. She saw warriors and priests, and a rogue or two when they appeared from the shadows. Their hair ranged wildly in colors, from a pale moonglow white, to dark blues, purples and greens. It was all strangely fitting, when she took in their skin tones, and then hers as well. Pale blues and violets, pinks or dark pink-purple mixes.

As she looked down at her own hands, they appeared to be of a dark, more flesh like pink. There was still a bit of a purplish undertone though. It didn't bother her, why should it? Her hair was a bit more difficult to view, mostly as it was cropped short and close to her head, but with a bit of effort she was able to glance at the dark lavender-ish strands.

Atleast it wasn't a ghastly shade of bleached blue, she mused, letting the strands go, turning her gaze back to the activity surrounding her. It seemed they were doing errands, as far as she could figure, from some of the more mature, or atleast been around longer, looking Night Elves, who talked briskly, giving out orders to the younger Elves, and it seemed they offered something shiny for doing a job correctly.

Growing curious, and slightly bored as well, she hurried over to the nearest one, he was taller than her, by a foot or two- not that she really cared. His hair was long, tinted a green that seemed more at place on the blades of grass, than a head. Especially when against pale blue skin; but the man seemed kind enough. His old, weathered face cracked into a welcoming smile when he saw her. “Another young warrior, to join the ranks.” He began, which caused Kiridori to frown, she wasn't a warrior. Wait, what was she? Oh yes, a druid. But then why-

Her thoughts were interupted, a bit rudely. “Now, young druid,” Ah, he had been just using a phrase when addressing her. “This small glade of ours is experiencing a bit of over balancing, of the native flora and fauna. I require aid in returning that balance. You need to kill around ten of the boars you see, and five of the sabre cats.”

Kiridori looked appaled at this; but he continued. “I will of course need proof, bring me their hooves and paws.” Mistaking Kiridori's look of utter horror at this task, for eagerness, he slapped her on the shoulder in a friendly gesture. “Well have at it young druid!” And as quickly as he finished addressing her, he turned towards another female Night Elf, blood staining the light mail armor she wore upon her chest and hands, even her hair was matted.

With a gruff, “Here,” she threw an assortment of brightly and darkly colored limbs at the sofar nameless man's feet. Who grinned and tossed her a bag of coin- but Kiridori had already fled the sight, one hand over her mouth, trying to keep from being sick. What was this madness? She knew of balance, of a circle for life, for something to live, something must die. But this slaughter seemed senseless to her.

Getting as far away from that now seemingly morbid task giver, as she could, Kiridori stumbled about the glade. Now noticing it seemed to feel.. empty. Shaking her head, she just glanced over her shoulder, as if to make sure she wasn't being followed. Which meant she didn't see what appeared before her and crashed into it. Kiri was saved as she had just been walking, but it was enough to knock her back to reality and bring her attention before her. Upon doing so, Kiri started at the creature, it appeared to be like a cross of a female Night Elf, scantily clad as her breasts were barely hidden by what could have been more of a bra than a top, while her lower half was what appeared to be a deer.

She seemed as startled as Kiri before giving a beaming smile, “Oh, hi! I was just in need of help too, I didn't expect it to come running into me though,” she said, a giggle escaping her, “But really, I need help. See, the Grelkin that resided in this glade with us, have well, turned sour.” She still giggled and Kiridori didn't understand how that could be funny- aand was about to say something, but yet again was cut short. “They've stolen all the medicinal herbs I was tending to, I don't understand why, as it's useless for them, but I sorely need them back...” here she paused and made a sheepish sound, “Oh, I haven't even asked for your name!”

Upon this exclimation Kiridori went to say her name; but was cut off. Again.

“But you can tell me after you get them back!” And the, Dryad, her mind supplied with after a moment, prattled off what herbs she had lost and that while she didn't expect Kiridori to get them all, she would still appreciate her getting some of them back. Kiri didn't appreciate the shooing motion and the urging to 'hurry' either, but biting back a reply that would have been less than savory, the young night elf went about her tast.

It wasn't untill she was out of sight of the nameless Dryad, did she realize that she wasn't even told how to get them back, or more importantly where these Grelkin resided in this... small? As if- glade.

She wandered, lost for a time before finally stumbling through a few bushes and ferns, into another part of the clearing. Here there were small huts, only a few feet high. Made from wood, bones, hide and bark. The ground was a bit rougher, worn down. Places free of even dirt lay here and there, showing the bark of the great tree which supported the forest she wandered.

If Kiridori hadn't been so focused on the odd little orange creatures darting about the huts, she would have been awed at how massive this world tree would have been to the young night elf. But at this moment she was more concerned as to how, she would go about bipedal things.

They didn't look human, their skin seemed a mix of fur and scales; scraggy mane like hair surrounded their necks and the back of their heads. Long, long hairs twitched about as they gibbered excitedly to one another; everything about them, was also bright, bright orange. Or atleast a shade of orange. Their eyes, hair, skin, claws, and even clothing it seemed.

Kiridori felt intrigued by the strange creatures- especially at the fact, like the others in the glade, they seemed to have no fear of her.

Acting on a hunch, rather than any real set knowledge, Kiridori just started forward, approaching the small huts. A few of the Grelkin's stopped their animated discussions in whatever language their gibberish could be dubbed, eyeing her warily, but Kiridori just smiled and waved before turning her attention to scanning the small creatures and their homes. Then, spied the herbs, and quite a large pile of them too, scattered near a few of the closer huts.

“I just need a handful of these, alright?” She voiced out, her tone soft and gentle, as she tried to appear calm and unthreatening to the small creatures, whom still continued to eye her warily. Although as she neared the herbs and scooped up only a handful, as she said, they didn't attack or go into a frenzy alarm, it almost seemed as if they let out a sigh of relief when Kiridori stood up, did a slight bow with a small word of thanks and left. Heading back to the Dryad who had sent her upon this quest.

The nameless Dryad seemed to have forgotten about Kiridori when she returned, and it took a few moments before blonde haired creature gasped and got out only a single apology amongst several words of thanks. Then snatched the herbs away and shooed Kiridori in the span of a handful of seconds. While Kiri felt slightly cheated as hadn't the Dryad offered a reward? She quickly decided she didn't want anything more to do with the Dryad. Ignoring the creature now, Kiri continued on her trek.

It didn't take long for her to get out of the forest? Glade? Meadow? She didn't really know what to call it so she didn't bother trying to figure it out much more than it was an area filled with green, more green, and blood thirsty creatures- they couldn't be Night Elves like her.

Or atleast sane; how could they mindlessly slaughter creatures as they had? Shaking her head slightly, before forcing a few bangs that were just long enough to fall over her eyes out of the way with a single movement of a hand, she continued onwards, hoping to find some others likeminded as herself.

it seems I still write to much ... last part posted in next post..

Seconds slowly ticked away into minutes, and minutes into half an hour, and still Kiridori walked down the silent path. A few creatures broke the silence every now and then, but since nothing seemed lurking in the dark foliage of the forest, waiting to rip her throat out, Kiridori paid them no mind outside of an occasional glance. Sunlight slowly filtered through the impressive canopies of the towering trees, giving an illusion of pre dusk gloom; even tho surely it was well into the middle of the afternoon. But even this didn't sway Kiri as she continued on, soft souled shoes making soft tap-tap sounds against the mossy cobblestone pathway that lead out of the glade.

It was all quite nice and relaxing, lulling Kiridori into a peace she hadn't felt since her birth of sorts. And so in a better mood once she came to the end of the path, Kiridori found herself just outside a small town where several young Night Elves like herself, ran about, seemingly doing small tasks or odd chores to help out. It seemed sane enough...

Ignoring possible chances for better judgement, Kiridori headed into the small town- Dolanaar.
