Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures

Mead-craving cranes (npcid:137181) are tameable, they spawn during a 'rare' encounter where you save some merchants from cranes and seagulls and an eel.

Re: Possible secret: Drustvar nature beasts

I didn't write down the Stele's text, I thought I'd seen somewhere online I could read them, but I can't find it now. So as time permits, I'm copying them out now. This is what I have so far. Drust Stele: Constructs (near Athair) <There are many scenes on this stone but three are clear. The Drust ar...

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures

The DressUpModel of that goat is actually missing some of the visual effects. But I had it out when I went into an arena, and it kept all the visuals.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures

This will show you if the npc has a special effect baked into it, as well as printing out the npcid, since sometimes there are multiple npcs with the same name but different looks. /run local npcid = tonumber(strmatch(UnitGUID("target"),"-(%d*)-%x*$")) print(npcid) ShowUIPanel(DressUpFrame) DressUpM...

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures

And I just verified that it keeps it through death. I don't think any of the other cursed beasts have the effect baked in, but I could have missed checking some of them.

Re: Battle for Azeroth creatures

Hexed Craghopper is tameable, I didn't see it listed under goats. Sorry if it's been mentioned already. http://forums.wow-petopia.com/download/file.php?mode=view&id=29439 It keeps it's special effect through dismissing, and I expect it's permanent. When I look at it in the dressing room with the npc...

Re: Possible secret: Drustvar nature beasts

I'm sorry. If I gave the impression that I thought it was a sure thing, then that error is mine. This is not a "known unsolved secret". They might not be tameable. If you're convinced that they're untameable, then whatever convinced you, I didn't find convincing. I am not asking anyone else to keep ...

Re: Battle for Azeroth Alpha/Beta General Thread

Where are Woodland Brambleback spawned? And it's not like the devs aren't aware that datamining exists. "Datamining so no hidden secrets" is not a convincing argument when there's been secrets that have taken several years to be discovered.

Anyways, thanks everyone for trying to ruin my fun.

Possible secret: Drustvar nature beasts

I do't know if this is an actual secret, but it reminds me of Gara in some ways. The Drustvar plant-beasts, "Bramblebacks" the bears and "thornclaws" the cats, aren't tameable. But Ulfar has hunter only dialog that could be the breadcrumb that starts a chain to spawn a tameable one as a spirit beast...

Re: Battle for Azeroth Alpha/Beta General Thread

You're presuming that it's not a specially spawned / phased mob that is tamed, for starters. Whatever.

You're presuming I don't know how Beast Lore works. You're presuming that the solution to a secret would be spelled out in a Beast Lore. Naysay all you want, I'm going to keep having fun looking.

Re: Some pets have unique attack speeds again -Broken Tooth

Ensorcelled Bonepickers (Carrion Bird: Ferocity, Mortal Wounds) have a base speed of 1 second per attack. They do not keep the visual effect upon taming.

Raven texture

Does anyone else see an error in the raven texture in game? There's some feathers on the left of the midline on the back that are blank. On the black model, it's close to black (so who knows how long I've overlooked it), but on the white model they're brown. I reloaded, restarted, and adjusted all 3...

If it were so, it would be an as-of-yet undiscovered secret, and unless you're a dev, please don't presume to know that something isn't a secret.

Re: Battle for Azeroth Alpha/Beta General Thread

So they're like beasts that are spirits of nature. Maybe it's a breadcrumb to tame one as a spirit beast. Maybe not, but I'd keep my eyes open for unusual npc emotes or item drops.

Re: What pets are you going to use to level up?

I typically start with a red crab, CapnD. I'm going to be switching them to the BfA skin, from the LK skin. Crab's ability still hasn't been fixed, though, so I'll probably switch to something new. Like a bee!

I don't know if it's been reported yet, but the Striped-Back Bullfrog, that's only up for the herbalism WQ in Suramar, are not tameable.

Re: Fel Wolf

Moro - the name of the wolf goddess in Princess Mononoke. I thought of it because after she is decapitated, her head still can bite. That's what the fel wolf reminds me of. Hungry - you know, like the Wolf. Actually, emotions or painful sensations might make a good name. Hunger, Terror, Jealousy, Co...

Re: Blood Elf Paladin mounts?

Probably unpopular opinions: Hawkstriders are terrible. Dragonhawks are't much less terrible. In WC3, dragonhawks were a lot different looking, and kind of cool. the BC version of them feels like a big miss, and hawkstriders seem like a "let's make dragonhawks, but on the ground" idea. Instead of be...

Re: Some pets have unique attack speeds again -Broken Tooth

TL;DR probably not worth it for 0.5 sec attack speed. Probably for ~1 sec attack speed. You only get two hits of pushback, each adding 0.5 seconds to the cast time (or each reducing channeling time by 25% of original length). Capping auto-attack speed is going to make it most likely that you'll get ...

Re: StableHelper addon, language help request

Thanks Wain. That worked, and I did it on my beta account, just in case it wouldn't switch back. Unfortunately, the function result wasn't in English. I'll be able to copy all the family name localization from wowhead; time consuming, but easy enough.
