Re: Just a quick question about scaling

Npcs scale to the player's level in leveling areas in the past couple of expansions. Sometimes it's a leveling area for one faction, but not another, so if your character is the wrong faction, those npcs will be at their maximum level.

Re: [IDEAS] Pet Family Rework for Shadowlands

I was thinking something like subclass for mechanicals. I'd divide up Silithids, with the Colossals (and potentially kunchog, goliaths) going to Beetle, sandreavers going to "worm", and ants and ravagers going to ravager. Silithid could be their BM subclass, with 'speedy' being the BM ability. Maybe...

Re: Anyone know what happened to this model?

There were a lot of missed opportunities with WoD, and Rylaks having a cool model was so close it's puzzling. I like to imagine the cool rylaks are like cicadas, and only leave Farahlon every 17th year and leave their skulls like giant candy around the rest of Draenor. Unfortunately the dumb AU time...

oh wow, you're right. You can tell if you look at the animations on wowhead. They have a different list of animations, and the animations that "overlap" look different. The Fjord Crow version looks kind of like owl animations.

Guess I am the only one, then.

I really don't see the issue.
You're not. There are lots of models that can work as either. Like every other beetle.

Re: Questions regarding Pet Sizes!!

Of the pets I use regularly, my Clefthoof is the largest. Devilsaurs shrink down a lot. They used to start big and then have an ability that made them even larger. Now they're not much bigger than raptors. I've noticed that when a pet is summoned as a dire beast, (I think the glyph is "dire stable")...

I thought I read somewhere we'd see Rezan, but I hope there's more Hir'eek too. He's been bent to serve two different blood gods, but when he's in control of himself, he's helpful and protective. In a secretive way, good shadowy, like Ka'alu. There's the tablet in game you can read about him , and h...

Rams! It looks like the new Stormpike battlecharger model. There's also the vicious war ram model, it'd be my preference, but I love them both. ♪♫ "Sheep go to Bastion, Goats go to Maw." ♫♪ Decomposer babies look like worm/grubs. Medium look like a combination of stag and rhinoceros beetles. I hope ...

Re: LF Poses

I've been having lots of fun experimenting with Narcissus, thanks for the suggestion. Also, I figured out how to do the kneeling+aiming pose. You have to put it in a macro and hotkey it, because it's not exactly done with the addon. For rifle: /run NarciPlayerModelFrame1:PlayAnimKit(2498,true) for b...

Re: LF Poses

oo. Narcissus is looking like it will be real helpful for getting falconeer shots especially. If there's a way to do combined animations, like kneeling and holding rifle, I haven't figured it out. I have one that I made that I think is from the modelviewer and not just stitched together in GIMP. I k...

LF Poses

There are several poses I'd like to use for xmog pics, but I don't know (or don't remember) how to do them. I'm pretty sure I've used the modelviewer for them, but I'd like to use them in situ . I'm looking for toys, spells, etc, that cause these animations: stealth walk (without any stealth effects...

I'll add those things to the unofficial family category. I've already taken shots of the wicker creatures, but I'll get pics of the skeletal/undead ones too. What do we have, apart from skeletal raptors, skeletal Zandalari raptor, skeletal Zand. devilsaurs, skeletal windserpent, skeletal hippogryph...

Re: 8.3 Taming List

Those solar hawks in Uldum (or a beetle with a similar effect) would be fun. And a change from the standard blue, and not confused with the inscription pets (if that's why they wouldn't do a red one).

Re: 8.3 Taming List

For spirit beast missed opportunities from the zandalar side, all those spectral models in BDA (toads, raptors, pterrordax?) would be nice. That transparency method is so much prettier than like what we got on Bulwinkel. Merektha's model would be really good too.

Ohh, you are right. I've no idea why I thought that he'd been added as a tameable beast in the pre-launch event. Re: 8.3 Taming List

Personally speaking, I'm all for a hunter pet collection. And as I've said in the past, all they need to do is make it a toggle you can turn on at the stable master, so people who don't want it can stay with slots. The people who say that's not acceptable because they'll feel 'forced' to use it or ...

Re: 8.3 Taming List

The Journal interface is more than just "more slots". A gold dump for more slots wouldn't have as many of the downsides as a Journal. It would be an easy way to do it. A fun way (that would be a lot more time consuming to design/code) would be if we could raze our garrison and build a zoo, and keep ...

Re: NPC Testing Macros

I've found a way to use the DressUpFrame, which will be useful for what you want (seeing random looks that the npc can possibly come in). I think you can do something slightly different to find it's current displayID, which I think might be most useful for dire beasts. It still requires a one-time (...

Re: NPC Testing Macros

If anyone else wants to experiment, and is lua inclined, this can save you a little time (although I could be wrong about some of it). The DressUpFrame went from using a DressUpModel to using a ModelScene with a bunch ModelSceneActor's, which doesn't derive from any of the old Model types. One Model...
