I hate my pet and if I could get rid of it without impacting my DPS, I would get rid of it. So, screw any special abilities for pets that require management or cause anyone any enjoyment.
I notice it as a health bar and an extra set of buttons I have to deal with; pets suck. The end.
Looking at them? They had Loque'Nahak...If you don't care, why did you waste so much time taming it? They also had a Thunderlord Dire Wolf, which would require five levels of grinding compared to a normal whitesaber and the ghost saber which requires the same.
People like that I can't understand. No offense to anyone here is meant...<3

Some of us just don't like having to bother with keeping a pet alive. I, for example, play a hunter because I get to shoot stuff with a gun. The pretty pets are a side-thing, and while I enjoy them, if I do more DPS by completely ignoring healing the pet, then I will do it. Call me a jerk if you want to.
If you are a hunter (yes shooting is so much fun) and you don't like a pet.. Then get rid of it. Dismiss the pet or never tame. I can imagine you only have it to get the few extra DPS in your count.

Or just a hunter that is being sarcastic about other hunters.
The only hunter pet that this could even be a possibility with is a wolf and your raid group says you MUST have a wolf... other than that is just poppycock.

I need more hunters, IMO.

I seen plenty of hunters that want to play the "ranger" class and want nothing to do with pets to the point of not even using them in instances. They are one step above melee hunters in the /facepalm hall of shame.
Honestly if you don't like playing with a pet, you should have rolled a mage. It's the equivalent of downranking your offensive spells because you don't want the hassle of dealing with mana issues.

And WHY, exactly? I happen to enjoy SHOOTING with a GUN. I don't enjoy having to deal with keeping a pet alive to save 5% of my DPS. -.-
There's nothing wrong with a Ranger class, but that sort of thing doesn't exist in WoW. I'm just a little confused why some people would choose a Hunter knowing that it came with a pet instead of looking at some other class options that may suit them better.

Knock it off, people. Just because you don't agree with some one else does not make them wrong. And the DEFINITELY doesn't give you the right to call some one a 'lameass' Lula, even if you are kidding.
Its just a matter of playstyle. Just because you don't get it, doesn't mean that other people can't enjoy it. Saturo didn't say "I don't use my pets." She said that she prefers to focus on her own personal DPS, and not on her pets. It's called MARKSMAN, where the focus is not the pet.

Keeping a pet alive isn't hard, ya know ;)
I know, but mine always manage to die. It's become a running joke in my guild. I suspect the rogues are using Tricks on them...

lol.
My only real gripe with pets is how fragile they are in PVP.
edit: and i fail at quoting

Ya know, if you don't like worrying about a pet in combat, that's your prerogative. Far be it from me to "yuck your yum" so to speak. Unless someone is paying for your monthly fee, they can't tell you how to play. I have spoken.
My real problem here isn't disliking pets. Pets are cool, but I can see why someone might not want them. I'm simply unhappy with:
a. "...or cause anyone any enjoyment." That's rude, saying "oh I don't like this so no one should have any fun with it."
b. They clearly spent a long time getting pretty, "eye-candy" pets. It's sort of contradictory to their statement.
One plus.. playing on the PTR the mend pet doesn't cost anything ... or does it not cost anything anyway? ... well.. oh well.. it is easier to spam without having any consequences focus wise.
The reason to play a hunter is to have pets.. There are many other ranged dps classes that don't have to worry about keeping pets up.. why not choose one of them if its such a burden? I feel sorry for that poor Loque'Nahak.. should let it run free and pick up MM or Surv

As I said it's the equivalent of down ranking your spells because you don't want the hassle of dealing with mana issues.
If you have played the class since early vanilla, you obviously know that Blizz has basically made pet management a non factor compared to how it used to be. There is very little left to complain about when it comes to pet management.

Yes, and I love that, but my pets go down early and often regardless.
And I can see how you would compare it to downranking spells, but really, it's nothing alike. I want a flawed mechanic either fixed or a choice to remove it. Someone who downranked spells was just a moron (except for some spells, like Frostbolt). Besides, that doesn't work anymore, since the cost is now a percentage of base mana instead.
