How... did I miss this? o_o I never noticed that Tito had a unique skin. I kept thinking he was the normal Ember Worg.

Its insanely slight.. its around the brow area.. the orange is a bit more.. well.. orange-r than the normal skin.

Isn't the brown skin on the worg puppy the same brown skin as the brown worgs in LBRS? I could have sworn it was...

It could very well be; I meant "exist" in terms of being tameable, since to a hunter, that's the important part.

If you tame one of the hyenas and stand next to the other type, you can see that the Blisterpaws are slightly brighter, "glowier" than the others. *pets Kallisto* S'why I picked it for her. But yeah, I was standing in Gadget summoning the two skins for a while before picking...they look really REALLY similar.

The Hyena skin on the left is just a liiiiiittle bit brighter orange than the one on the left. But it's barely noticeable. Much, much, MUCH less so than the Ember Worg / Tito skins.

Yeah, the whole comparison idea was born from me actually having to pull them into photoshop to see the difference.. i should've placed em closer together..

I find it easier to open the models in two separate tabs. Don't even bother to rotate them. Leave them in default position.
Open: Blisterpaw Hyena and Rabid Blisterpaw.

Now concentrate purely on the ears. I think that's the area with the greatest difference in tone. Flick back and forth between tabs and you should notice the tone change. If you turn them side-on you should notice that the rest of the skin (especially the mane and other darker areas) changes a bit too. It's crazy that they even bothered making two skins so slight. I assume one was a last-minute tweak of the base skin and they forgot to remove the other.

The difference between the two worg skins is more obvious, however. One has a lot of red in the brown and the other doesn't.

I would guess that's "DireWolfSkinDarkBrown"? It's the only other traditional worg skin that's missing at this point. If the worg pups have colour variations then it's no wonder it's missing from Wowhead.

lol looks the opposite to me if anything... but the left one's hip is blocked so you can't see quite as much of it... really though the only difference I would swear to is ... maybe... in the eyes - the one on the right seems to have pupils.

Getting back to the original topic... I still haven't found the "Brown Wolf" :/ The simple name made me think it'd be in a low-level area, but I haven't managed to find any in any of the zones I've looked so far.

It is, and way back in the day when you tamed the LBRS wolf to get the skills, it would change between that and the black.

They did fix it so when you tamed the brown version it turned in to black, and if my hunter wasn't borked on ptr, I would totally go check to see if its changed. I remember freaking out when I took the boat and my black wolf wasn't black anymore.
My first color changer. xD

Edit: As far as I know, you can still tame them, but when I did it awhile back brown would auto-turn black.

I think I am going nuts, but last night I ran into Barnabus in Badlands, and he certainly appears to be this brown shade. I don't know if they changed it, but I'm 99% sure he was this slightly browner color than the reddish ones in the Steppes. I had a red one tamed before and the way Barnabus looked, he had yellower eyes than the red skin, and more of a chestnut brown color on his portrait. I didn't tame him so I couldn't test it out and see him next to a red worg, but Tito and Barnabus definitely look like the browner version, though both are listed as the red one. The red worgs have a definitive shade of green that is unmistakable for eye color.

Edit... bah someone else confirmed it too. Sorry I didn't see someone mention him being the brown shade lol >_<

It was confirmed in the OP that Barnabus is the Ember Worg skin, not the brown shade. I saw him last night (on live!) and this is certainly still the case there. There's been no news of a change on beta to my knowledge.
