Tameable exposed-brain colossus and tan silithid bugs!

Unread post by Wain »

I guess Blizzard was listening, er, reading! I revisited Thousands Needles after the new patch tonight (which wasn't large). My Alliance hunter, Freja, has started freezing on loading, so I took Beorhtlaf, my orc hunter for a spin:

First thing I noticed was the tan silithid beetles have returned to the hive, as Silithid Defenders, and are now tameable:

So that's another coloured beetle for the list!

Secondly, and more exciting for you silithid colossus fans out there, the Hive Controller of that hive is now tameable. He's different to the others in that he uses the rather gross exposed-brain model:

He's the purple-orange kind.

And before you ask, I haven't found any tameable hydras or basilisks in this patch yet :) Or more tameable silithid wasps.

Oooooh!

The twisted side of me now wants to roll an undead hunter named "Zombie", and get a hive controller named "Snackbar"...

WATER BEETLES UFUFUFUFUF

xD

Nah, but wouldn't the wild flow of water hurt the brain? I would figure water filling an exposed brain would pretty much hurt, or dislocating it. Ouuuch!

Through sheer luck, the salinity of sea water on Azeroth is identical to the osmolarity of the silithid's brain cavity. ;)

That seems doubtful. Ah-well! This game is all about fantasy. But it hurts my head just fantasizing the pain of salty water or any water filling the brain cavity.. Ugh.. yuck.

But still! I might use this skin if Sorakarr gets harmed in RP. ICly and he needs time to recover.

(Yep. My semi-Mantodea ish Silithid Colossus will be called Sorakkar : ) )

The brain would take just as much damage from being exposed overall, for an extended period of time. Salt water isn't the biggest of their problems. :P

Win.

I rather like the exposed brain model, I think I might very well opt for getting one for my Undead hunters...

Like this.

You're right Saturo. :p

And yes, I like it too but I would feel guilty using it ICly. Like walking around Ashenvale or Stormwind with it and people saying I do animal cruelty..

.. Not that people will care about me hurting a Silithid because there's too much traumatized war veterans from the Shifting Sands War that would much rather I or someone else'd decapitate him on the spot. Like the Sentinels tried to do to my little Horakk..

But yeah, I might use it ICly if my Sorakkar needs some IC time to recover after a fiery battle.

Is the beetle family an exotic family or a regular one?
