I'm not sure if this was brought up but cower now has a graphic (three squiggly exclamation marks) and a few pets actually have animations as they cower! I did not test every variety of each family but I did test the pets in my stable and, at least, one of each family. Testing was done on the PTR.
I tested cower three times to see if there was any noticeable animations.
Bat - No significant animation
Bear - (and Arcturis) raise their left paw attempting to block their face while shifting their body and head away.
Bird of Prey - Does a small swoop backwards
Boar - No significant animation
Carrion Bird - Same as Birds of Prey
Cat - Yawn animation
Chimaera - No significant animation
Core Hound - No significant animation
Crab - No significant animation
Crocolisk - Quickly swats it's tail to the right. If the tail is already to the right it just stays there. (Ghost Hydra - Same as the croc but favors the left.)
Devilsaur - No significant animation
Dragonhawk - Similar to Birds of Prey/Carrion Birds
Gorilla - No significant animation
Hyena - No significant animation
Moth - No significant animation
Nether Ray - Similar to Birds of Prey/Carrion Birds/Dragonhawks
Raptor - Swing their arms and head in a circle, jaw open.
Ravager - Drops it's head slightly.
Rhino - No significant animation
Scorpid - No significant animation
Serpent - No significant animation
Silithid - No significant animation
Spider - No significant animation
Spirit Beast - I only have Arcturis. I would fathom to guess the other SBs act like their non-exotic counterparts.
Sporebat - No significant animation
Tallstrider - No significant animation
Turtle - Similar to the bear's but without lifting it's limbs.
Warp Stalker - Roars
Wasp - No significant animation
Wind Serpent - No significant animation
Wolf - No significant animation (except Vargul Blighthounds: Leans back, exposing their left shoulder as to absorb incoming attacks)
Worm - No significant animation

Re: Cower
Nice piece of research, and interesting. Blizzard is giving us quite a few little cosmetic touches like that.
Shame turtles don't go into their shells, but that would be some fair major new animation, as they're not the same model as the mount.

Re: Cower
This pleases my inner biologist greatly. In real life, animals often use feeding, grooming or resting behavior in high stress situations, such as conflict, to reduce their threat and presumably comfort themselves. Go Blizz!Kiadas wrote: Cat - Yawn animation

Hmmmm that's weird, about "Cats" Cower animation. I wouldn't expect scared behavior, like that from, say, a lion. I have something to say about that to Blizzard.
