I used to have a Wind Serpent, first off the red variety found in Barrens, then, when TBC came I got the new white Outland skin. I actually chose him because I thought he looked cool, but once I hit level cap I wanted to get something more useful. I was pleasantl surprised to find out that he was acually a good dps pet. (Back when Lightning Breath was spammable) His focus dump mitigated armor! I was happy to keep little Azuro around. When WOTLK hit he's been in my stables for a really long time :(

I also exist on DeviantArt.

I always had the juvenile spottet snowleopard as a pet, and i adore her :)
The first word that came to mind when i saw her, was Müsli.. as in the cerial.
When i tougth of it, it was a perfect logical name for that pet, when i thougth of the cerial. It has oakmeal, raisins, nuts etc in it.When you pour enough milk, all you can see is the black raisins floating in milk. Lots of black spots in white= Snowleopards :D

Though he is no longer with me, I'd say my oddest choice of pet would have been the Crocolisk I kept for a very long time.

This was before pet talent trees were introduced, and I'm sure many of you remember how useless Crocolisks used to be. They didn't have as many skills as other pet types, and most people hated the constant hissing and growling.

As for me, however, I loved him. I like reptiles/dinosaurs in general, but Crocodiles are my number one favourite animal in real life. Naturally when I found out there were in-game ones I knew I had to tame one.

I took the river skin since it was my favourite, named him Snapjaw (which was amusing because it wasn't until much later I discovered there was an actual mob named Snapjaw Crocolisk), and kept him with me for a good chunk of my levelling. I loved the noisy thing and really hope to see Crocolisks get some more love next expansion. They're sorely lacking in colours!

It'd be nice if they made a smoother model for crocolisks and added a few shiny ones.

Turtles, Crocolisks, and Tallstriders need more colors, in my opinion XD

I did the same thing with a pet crab years ago. I think he had only scratch and growl and I used him pretty much exclusively.
I seem to get really attached to whatever animal I tame first. I <3 my blue moth Toby, even if everyone yells at me for his flapping around and getting in the way :D

I do use a wolf in raids. A tan blue-eyed mulgore praire dog. Its little bark also gets quite some comments. I named her Dunya who was a very sweet dog of a good friend. The model actually looks a lot like her, when she got on in years her white fur began to get somewhat yellowish.

However, in pvp i can get quite some negative comments about my blue serpent Dagon, who is apperently 'lol' worthy to a lot of people. Some folks say that a spider would be much better, but since i usually spend my time in BG s hunting clothies a special attack that messes up casting seems very useful. And web might be nice, but the cd is soo long that i dont realy see the point of it.

Besides I love the silvery shine of the blue serpent skin, it s so pretty ^^

That's enough to justify using it. ;)

My first ever pet was the silver spider in teldrassil. I liked the pet up until the point where i discovered talent trees... where i started wanting the much cooler WASPS! ... yea they r my most favourite pets ever! >0< now that i only just recently reached lv80, ive got the purple one in sholazar basin. My other favs include the white core hound, (so white! =3), the white moth found in borean tundra, (so pretty! ^_^) the white carrion bird found in auchindoun, (didnt no it had 2 heads =O), and i hope 2 find skoll in the storm peaks... though havent found him yet... =[ (so ive got the temperary white wolf found there...)

(just noticed that 3 of the pets i got r white! ¬_¬ though they r soo pretty!! x3)

I have 3 hunters with 5 stable slots each, but I tend to use different pets in different situations.

For raids that don't require too much AoE, I always bring my green wasp, CapnHammer. He's just so pretty and nobody ever brings one like him. Plus, I like to think he's helping my dps along with the rest of the raid by lowering the target's armor by 5%.

In times where I think the tanks are going to have a hard time, I bring Ziva, my crow, to screech everybody's AP down.

The Chimera (Echo) I only keep around for pvp/battlegrounds, but I've found I enjoy bringing the Capn instead just because it keeps the rogues at bay, and I HATE rogues.

Maura, my warpstalker, serves as my pet for huge aoe-pull dungeons. She can port to an enemy super fast, so if there's running around, there's no dawdling and lowering my dps.

The wolf I just got because I figured everyone else had one for a reason, but I haven't noticed much dmg improvement with him.

TL:DR; I'm keeping my wasp forever, and my crow and warpstalker are my second favs.

My absolute favorite pet is my rare white Gorilla Albus (Uhk'loc) He's been with me since lvl 53 when I was just high enough to tame him. I camped him for about an hour then logged, when I came back he was pummeling me senseless (along with a few of his other friends in that cave) & throwing me across the room. I use him mostly as a solo tank for questing, but he's great for it & holds aggro well even before WOTLK. I also think he's very pretty, pure white with blue skin, he blends in with half of the environment in Northrend XD

I use my blightound & my devilsaur for instances, but when I do the Sons of Hodir rep quests for 1000th time he helps make it a little more bearable :)

Redhawke wrote:My personal diamond is Koosu, the quest crocolisk from Scholazar Basin. Although he is no longer tameable as of the patch, He fights well as a crocolisk and I do not have to be BM to use him. He never fails to elicit comments (both positive and negative). I named him "Slimer". The "Gee Whiz" factor is 10+ in town, and I find his bubbling noise quite relaxing.
Definately MY DIAMOND as well... EVERYWHERE I go I get asked about him. I love that he has Thunderstomp to grab aggro while I'm solo grinding. I however named him AhhChoo and the name ALONE garners comments! He WAS named Booger, but I thought AhhChoo was funnier... People always /ahchoo on him! LOL... I cant say I've had any NEGATIVE comments yet tho! And he's not lying about the 10+ "Gee Whiz" factor! EVERYONE asks! But I however try to block out the CONSTANT bubbling noise! LOL

I'd have to say it's my cursed offspring of harkoa, a normal cat, but with seriously cool glowing red eyes, and slightlys more hunched shoulders.

My Wind Serpent, all the way. When I got my Hunter to level 10, I looked up all the pets one could get, to find the perfect one, and that was it. As soon as I saw it on Petopia, I wanted nothing else. So, I got my brother to run with me down to Wailing Caverns, and tamed the Deviate Coiler Hatchling. I have had her ever since, and I will never release her. I like that I tamed her as a Hatchling, and that she 'grew up' with my character (literally, she's huge now!)

I really did love my Worgen though, while it lasted. I got so attached.... /cry
So instead, I tamed me a barking wolf, and told myself that it's the same pet, but he just stays in his wolf form to avoid detection. ;)

Got to be Humar (which i named Thalas for no actual reason, i was new at the time and read the name in trade and thought it sounded cool). He's level 75 now and i don't use him now, because if he get's to 76 people might just think he's Pitch, so now i use Shattered Hand Warhound (Whom i named Gargolmar...original or what!) who i puposely chose for the dps/buff. I do hope to change their names but i can't seem to find a good name that suits either of them. But i haven't played WoW for a month because it's not safe with the Trojan i have and i don't know if pet dps/family attacks have changed since 3.3, in which case i might tame a better pet (but don't think i won't stop using Gargolmar! i'll most likely make a rota).

I have used a variety of pets as well, notably gorillas, ravagers and the occasional wasp. Sadly I had to let my white eagle (named Philly of course) fly back to his freedom to make room for the last spirit beast. On my alliance hunter I still have just one slot filled in my stable and that belongs to my beloved Darnassian tiger Sekhemet. I tamed her at lvl 10 and she has been by my side since.

I love my pet Ravager. His name is Kreature.

I got him at level 30 and I had to commit suicide to get him because I a Tauren.

I went to Darkshore and drowned Hanuremeap, ran her back as a ghost and waited for the boat that went to Azuremyst. When the boat arrived I got on and rezzed. All I had to do then was wait until I got to Azuremyst. I ran to the area where the orange ravagers were and tamed the 1st one i saw and hearth-stoned back to safety.

Keeping in mind I tamed him well before the patch that scaled a pets level so it was always a minimum of 5 levels lower than the hunter, I levelled Kreature from 10 to 30 and I have had him ever since.

I almost cried when recently I had a glitch. I went to swap my Devilsaur for Kre (while I was mounted) using the call stable pet and swapped them over, as usual, but a few minutes later I dismounted and found my Devilsaur was still out so i tried to use call stabled pet again but this time Kre wasn't there. I tried a couple of times more but he still didn't appear. I even tried going to a stable master. Still nothing. I contacted a GM who told me that, according to them, Kre was active and advised me to log off and delete certain files, which i did, but he still wasn't there. Anyway I waited until the next day and tried to get him out on a different computer, he STILL wasn't there. By this point I was telling everyone that my Devilsaur had eaten him.

I ended up solving the problem by myself because i noticed that, on the laggy computer i was using at the time, Kre's icon appeared briefly when swapping my pets around. So I decided to try something. when his icon appeared I quickly clicked and dragged it to the empty stable slot. I had a sigh of relief when i noticed it had worked.

And that was the only time I 'lost him'.

Sorry about the waffle :D
