Deep Borers and other colour changers

Unread post by Wain »

I notice that Petopia still lists the Deep Borer worm in Maraudon as a colour-changer. And someone on Wowhead mentioned it doing that as late as patch 3.0.2. Does it still do that on live? Because I can confirm it's been stabilized on the beta. I tamed a blue one and it's only summoning as blue. This is great because it was the only blue worm in the game, and yet it wasn't stable. If it hasn't been fixed before now I wonder if other colour-changers have also finally been fixed.

EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. The blue and grey Deep Borers are still both colour changers.

Ooooh that's interesting! I wonder if they'll do the same with that colour changing warp stalker in the new colours... I'd love the blue/red one, but not so much the white/blue skin. That's one I'd keep resummoning to change skins... ;)

I'm not on beta so I can't check, but I'm curious to hear what people find out! ... And I might go get that worm now, I like the blue skin. :)

They fixed the new colour-changing silithids in Thousand Needles very quickly, so I'd be surprised if they hadn't fixed the warp stalkers already :) I haven't got my hunter to a level where I can check that yet.

My one warp stalker I tamed earlier is still a color changer, but I'll go have a look to see!

EDIT: Yes, they're still color changers.

Just did a quick run through of some.

The Rip Blade Ravagers in BeM, both type of Raptors in ZD, and the cavedweller worgs in Storm Peaks are still all color changers.

I was on my way to icecrown when I got DC'd, and it's bedtime anyway, so I'll check those worgs and the rhinos tomorrow if someone hasn't already.

Do you mean the green ones? They're still there outside the instance. But they don't change to any other colours anyway. The borers inside are still grey or blue, but my blue one is definitely not changing to grey.

Looks like still have some colour changers to fix, but I guess the ones that include unique colours are the most important to stabilize.

Meant the grey ones. At least they're still there. Are they stable too?

Ooh, if that's the case, never mind me; it's been a very long day.

*glees quietly, as it was the blue one she'd wanted ages ago*

Well I don't necessarily want them to remove the colour changers, I'd just like there to be an option for one that doesn't change... But then I remember the rip-blade ravager (who I'd keep resummoning to get the orange/purple skin, which is only available in the colour changer).

Gah! I'm very sorry, i went back today to investigate the grey ones and found that both blue and grey exhibit colour changing. I have no idea why my blue one didn't the other day. I resummoned it a good dozen or more times. I guess it was just random. So the deep borer (and everything else on the Petopia list) are still colour changers.

For what it's worth, I now have a permanent green worm in Kalli's stable due to this thread getting me off my butt and headed to Mara. :D *pets Scylla*

Alright, now I'm curious - what pet of yours will get named Charybdis? :)

None. ;) Unless Blizzard one day allows us to tame black holes!

Technically, something like a boar would work, but I'm not feelin' it at the moment. With Scylla, the moment she had a name, that was it. Instant bond.

For that matter, I may have to go back to the drawing board on Castor and Pollux. I'd LOVE having pets named after them, but I don't think that the nether ray/spore bat thing is working for either of them. Time to window shop, methinks....
