Wassa wrote:EDIT: Looks like most of the skins that where only found in the MPQ files are being used for new pet looks in cata. Only ones I don't see on your list is these three chimeras, so feel free to use these pictures for your topic. The pictures are named the same way the skin is called.
Much appreciated! Thank you :)

If you find any more skins in there that I missed, please let me know. I did see other "half done" skins in wowmodelviewer, but in many cases they didn't seem to be intended as real skins. There were a few others that did seem to be genuine new colours, but didn't show the whole model. I wish I could remember what they were. There were some odd-coloured (old world) basilisks that were only missing their side bristles, for example, but they're still not pets anyway. Something with wings comes to mind...

^ This, seriously... I'm getting a little sick of peoples negative attitude and them thinkinging that we all want to hear it. By all means, discuss why you dont fancey them, you don't like their design, their skills, their animation, whatever, but in your words....

Never liked forum trolls, dont care. -_-

*****On topic.*****

I think if they had a grounded animation they would look amazing. The way they are so large, spread out and just "hover" always seemed a little odd to me, but then I have always had a soft spot for the old world model. :)

Oh and there was a topic about poking around in files and they found a few other in here too :D

Can be a cool animation but using flying animation when they have to attack a target.

Oh for sure, if it was grounded all the time it would be a little sad as they look so good soaring into battle.

Kind of like if the ground animation would be their "walk" animation and their "run" would be the flying :D

That sounds considerably less complicated than my desire for a "flight toggle" of some sort. I'd also be perfectly happy getting a "Perch" option for all flying pets, so they can sit next to you for a while and not flapflapflapflapflapflap for hours while you're afking with them in Dalaran. *nod*

I always feel so bad for the flying pets; they have to keep themselves aloft all the time - with no breaks. :/ It especially bugs me when the birds dip lower in the air; it looks to me like they're struggling. :(

Or how Proto-drakes use their wings as 'hands'.
That would be nice

They could have Fly as their bonus ability-

"Your pet takes flight, increasing its movement speed by 20%."

Like Stealth!

I was thinking for Chimeras they would stop and stand on the ground if you're still for a few seconds, then when you start walking again they take flight.

Another example of how I picture them standing:

Hmm, maybe I'll try to sketch one after work.

Given that many of the birds already have static ground animations, would certainly be nice for all flying pets to eventually come down to land if you stand still long enough, but it's a lot of work for Blizz on a very peripheral issue - look how long it was for even hippogriff mounts to get a standing/walking animation.
