Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
Right then, I'm sure everyone knows about Warp Stalkers' new ability.. Time Warp. From what I've seen in the PTR.. They do not warp when using this ability.
Now I get that Blizzard is trying to "normalize" pets, but honestly I think this might be going slightly overboard. First of all.. Warp allowed Warp Stalkers to get to their target without Charge, saving one talent point for something else. But here's the thing.. ONE talent point won't make them overpowered, they aren't going to top the DPS charts if they skip out on Charge and get something else, as they're not DPS pets.
In fact, without the increased chance to dodge, Warp was almost WORSE than Charge, due to not immoblizing the target. If they added the warp to Time Warp, it'd be almost exactly like Charge.. So I see no real harm in bringing back the warp to WARP Stalkers.
And to add to this.. I also noticed that well, Time Warp doesn't even SUIT Warp Stalkers, as it "Warps time around the target" ... Um, time? Last I checked, Warp Stalkers warped through dimensions and space, not time. Warping space does not equal warping time. (I am very tempted to make a Pokemon joke here. "Warp Stalkers are Palkias! Not Dialgas!" XD)
Am I the only one thinking this is a bit overboard when it comes to normalizing Warp Stalkers? Or at least not entirely fair to Warpies? ... Okay, while that may just be MY opinion, I'm sure I can't be the only one thinking Time Warp doesn't even make sense for them! ... Right?

Re: Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
I agree with all the points you've said here, I think your theory makes a lot of sense.
I've never had a Warp Stalker for any significant amount of time (was waiting for Gezz <3), and since I'll be taming Gezzarak I was looking forward to seeing Warp in action. I'm honestly just relieved to be able to get my dream pet at last, so I certainly won't complain if I have to sacrifice the Warp ability for that, but regardless I'm sad to see it go.

I agree with you. As I've stated several times, Kael (and his sister Jezebel) are teleporters, not time warpers. That's for the Infinite Dragonflight. And the bronze dragonflight, too, I suppose...I've got it! Warp stalkers are bronze dragons in disguise.
...No wait that wouldn't make sense.

Re: Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
Oooh, Bronze Dragons in disguise? Well, I'd like Time Warp if THAT were the case! But since it's not, to heck with Time Warp! XD
But yay, I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this! Hmm... I WAS thinking about pointing it out to Blizzard, but since the voice of only one Hunter probably wouldn't change a thing, I decided against it. But if we get enough people, we could have a little petition like we did for Gezzerak! They've already listened to us about Gezz, so maybe we might get lucky with Warpies again! :D

Re: Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
I had a warp stalker a while ago,and loved her! JubJub was an awesome tank(waaay before Gorilla's and Worms),and I agree...Warp was an awesome ability! My friend had a gorilla and would bet me that she would get her gorilla to a mob before JubJub...never once did she beat JubJub...lol! Good times,Good times....
But on topic,yes I will miss warp...but it's Blizz's game.../shrug....all I can do is play in it.
Kitairra
P.S. Like you,Veph,I will get Lady Gezz as well...lol...and her name will not be JubJub...lol!

Seeing as Time IS the Fourth DIMENSION. I think it makes great sense, though I would like to have the old warp back regardless.

While true, Warp Stalkers warp through SPACE specifically, as in.. Outland dimensions, other worlds, yadda yadda yadda. THOSE types of dimensions are what Warp Stalkers warp, not time. *Shrug*Gimlion wrote:Seeing as Time IS the Fourth DIMENSION. I'll miss the old ability and don't really care for the new one. It doesn't fit them, in my opinion. However, I love the little buggers and it won't stop me from getting mine back.

Re: Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
I am my no means a physics major, but from my understanding of it, in Physics while space-time is technically two dimensions, but they are so dependent on each other that you really can't separate them. (just read Stephen Hawkins new book... quite interesting)
So in that aspect, I see no reason why time warp or teleportation can't be linked.
Maybe there was a mutation in the Warp Stalkers DNA (maybe an inversion, or polyploidy) that changed how it handles teleportation (is it caused by a unique organ, or maybe a special protein that is present in all of its tissues? Did it change the function of the organ, maybe the shape of the protein....) and changed it into the ability to create a time warp instead?
(Biology is more my area, so excuse my tangents, lol
)
Now, this is of course assuming that the WoW universe functions on the same physical principals that our universe, which of course is obviously false. (magic, talking plants, etc)
I am sorry that you guys won't have the teleport ability that you like so much. I was a fan of warp-stalkers for a short time, so I can understand it a little.

Please don't equivocate physics "dimension" with scifi/fantasy "dimension".

Re: Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
Well just to play the devil's advocate, there is actually a way you can justify teleporting via control of time; stop everything around you, run over to where you want to "appear", restart time flow and ... to everyone else it looks like you just did a blink step. I'm too lazy to look up the references but pretty sure this gimmick is used in at least a few movies and comic books...

That all being said, I hate that 2/3 of the pets with a movement slow are in tenacity...

Re: Concerning Warp Stalkers and "Time Warp"
True, but I don't think that's how Warp Stalkers do it =P Seeing as they've been said to warp through space and dimensions/other realms, yadda yadda yadda, my theory is that they literally warp into another realm then warp back near their target when they use warp. But that's just how I see it.Worba wrote:Well just to play the devil's advocate, there is actually a way you can justify teleporting via control of time; stop everything around you, run over to where you want to "appear", restart time flow and ... to everyone else it looks like you just did a blink step. Unless their "warp" is the most pervasive kind e.g. warping of reality itself in which case all bets are off...Senna-Umbreon wrote:True, but I don't think that's how Warp Stalkers do it =P Seeing as they've been said to warp through space and dimensions/other realms, yadda yadda yadda, my theory is that they literally warp into another realm then warp back near their target when they use warp.
