Could someone set this straight, please!?

Unread post by Rottingham »

Alright, so in regard to monkeys I've heard lots of different skills that they have.

I've heard everything from throwing "something special" at the enemy to leaving traps that look like banana peels that when triggered makes the enemy knockback...

Now those sound halarious, but highly unlikely. Could someone please set the record straight for me... Does anyone know what skill the monkeys really have?

It's not a stun, it's a disorient effect, like scatter shot.

I haven't seen the animation, so I can't comment on that either way, but it's definitely meant to be like blind.

I'm aware the visual effect is different, but is there any functional effect between a stun and a blind? (i.e. it puts someone out of action for (x) seconds)

A blind is actually more like Fear than a stun. It makes the target walk around randomly without being able to control anything for a few seconds. Fear, but without the running, essentially.

Kinda like the spiderwebs from the Azjol Nerub instance, right?

Yes, more like blinding webs than a stun. Stuns hold you in place.

So the functional effect is a little different.

I know. thats what I meant. Azjol Nerbus has mobs at the beginning that do that. They spit webs in your face and your character runs aaround going "OMFGWTFGETITOFF!"

That's why I was agreeing with you!

...this is turning into one of those "arguing to agree with each other" threads, isn't it?

Sounds like they probably throw a rock at your head, like those old geomancers in Silithus

Yes, this, exactly. :)

I keep calling it "pet blind" on principle, but since it's a four second duration, it's a duplicate of scatter shot. Blind lasts longer.

Sweet! So monkeys get a scatter shot-like ability? By throwing something at the target's head?

I change my mind, I want a monkey now!

lol, thanks everyone!

So people are going to be blinded by monkey poop in their eyes while they stumble around trying to get it off? >_>

Pretty much!

Unless their PvP trinket is up. In which case, the poop magically disappears? T_T

I'm going to start calling my trinket Mr. Clean...
