Camping the King

So I decided to camp King Krush. I know when his last spawn (and likely death) was, know when Aotona's last death was (I did it myself) since people on WoWhead think that matters, and even when Loque was last tamed. Any advice?

The good news is Loque didn't go to waste, out of the 20 able hunters on the server a level 79 answered my call and was ecstatic to tame him. For reference I'm on Illidan Horde so it's not quiet very often in Sholazar.

decided to fly around looking for other rares since King hadn't spawned when I thought he might, no luck on Skoll, but found Gondria...giving Arcturis a minute or two before I head back out to the Basin

King Krush doesnt share a spawn timer with Loque and Aotona i dont think. its just a generic northrend wide spawning system that allows (debatable on how many exactly) 3-5 rares to be up at any given time ~ usually with at least 6 hours between spawns for the same rare.

Advice is the same generic response, "dont give up and have a priest friend or a shaman friend on call to help if needed"

sometimes spamming bribes helps too "Paying 1000g to anyone who helps me tame King Krush (the big green dino)"

Ready for this? Ready? Alright.

1. First, when you see him, DO NOT BE SURPRISED. This will kill reaction time, and it means another few seconds you've lost taming. You're out there to find him. That's the whole POINT. When you see him, don't freak out.

2. You have a plan. You know your plan. Your plan has worked. Execute it! Don't sit there, panic, and fumble. because it means you'll fail. And when you fail, you screw up little things: Miss a button, miss a buff, etc.

3. Check late in the morning, late at night. Especially when you're tired. You won't be as surprised or panicky, and will execute it semi-better without the intial, "WTF?" reaction.

4. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS grab a trash pet after a fail. It doesn't matter how far the closest one is. GET ONE. It will make ten seconds of your try THAT much easier.

5. Ask your guildies. They're there for a reason. I had quite a few guildies help me. A pally and a warrior would check two other flight paths while I kept an eye on a third. The pally even set her hearth to Nesingwary for me. I had one pally, (my dad.) on stand by all the time, as well as a priest (mom's.) on stand by for fear ward.

6. If there's a pally, grab him! Hammer of Justice WILL STUN KRUSH.

7. Make friends in the Basin! If you see Loque/Aotona, don't kill them, give them to a hunter. I had about four or five hunters all keeping an eye out because I helped them find their Basin rare.

8. Same faction? Send them a whisper. I had multiple people peel off when I asked them to leave Krush alone when I was trying to tame. One pally even buffed me. I only had horde and a single dwarf who I loathe (a hunter, too!) kill him.

9. NEVER GIVE UP. He's testing you to see if you're worthy.

10. It will take a while. Be ready for a wait. But he's worth it. I love opening my stable or logging in to see my faithful Bayne.

Holy crap blood is still pumping

So I went grocery shopping (food is good) and figured he'd spawn then and get killed. I come home, start a loop around, get to the northern spawn spot (by the pillar) and get an NPCScan alert. I freak out, seeing one other 80 hunter in Sholazar (who soon leaves I guess). The only priest in zone is solo-botting, no priests in guild. I try 3 times to solo tame and fail from fear (0.2 second fail killed me), so I spam the Priests in Dal, paying 1000g for help.

Only priest that responds is in a guild of known Chinese farmers. He and I try to work out in broken English what he needs to come do, and it takes what seems like FOREVER to get over there. He starts demanding pay pre-tame but I assure him post-tame I will get him, and begrudgingly he shields+wards me.

He is now MINE. Now, to think of a name. Oh, and pics to come once I get off the helicopter to Dal.

Sheesh talk about greedy I'd of been happy to help if I was on your server & had a priesty...

Key to taming Krush imo:

Send pet in FIRST - wait for pet FEAR, then pop BW/Abandon Macro then Pop all Haste CD's/Tame Macro - works wonders as that's exactly how i got my 2nd Krush.

Yeah Tilo that's what I tried. Like I said the .2 second left on tame fear was absolutely soul-crushing.
